I've been trying to figure out how to add the new add-on buses as AI buses within the route. Been trying to get an answer on the other forum without any result or round about answer. I just can't figure it out. I keep getting an error when trying to add them when the game starts. I figured I would try my luck here.

I think you have to go to AI LIST, and below all the buses add the file directory for the add on bus

Then create a new ai_group with the bus number (12 if its directly below MAN D92-13 the one below etc-line number=bus no.)

Go into the Editor and define the line to the group. Also count how many tours there are in that line

Save and leave Editor

Go back into AI LIST, rename the aigroup to aigroup_depot

Then create below this aigroup_depot_typegroup

Place a random number say 310 for FBW

Below either write a repaint or leave a space and write the next bus number (any number)

Do this for the amount of buses in tour

Load game!

can you tell me how to add the mercedes single deck bus to the map , because when i add it the the SD202's dont show any route info on the display except the number and the mercedes just drive around with the doors open and noting at all on the displays. They work fine seperatly just using 1 or the other but not together.

Any Help Would Be Most Helpfull,
Richard

Unless you change the coding, Mercedes wont work as AI because of the 3 door setup. Thiago found a cure for FBW bus however

Secondly, you need to create an entirely seperate AI group to get the AI driving with destinations. I tried just adding repaints to the existing group in Newcastle, and the displays went, but created a new group, configured it all in the editor, and vola works a dream!

I am going to make a picture guide tonight for everyone to download, which explains it clearer but./..

1) Go into AI LIST folder

2) Create 'aigroup' folder

Lets say you are using D92
You would write

NewcastleEdit
1
11
Newcastle

3) Move that big long list of vehicles (aigroup below the vehicle folder list) right to the bottom of the ailist category. IF YOU LEAVE IT AT THE TOP, YOU WILL ZEILUNG OUT!

4) Go into the editor

5) Go to Timetable

6) Find a tour, and replace Newcastle with NewcastleEdit

7) Save and close

8) Load up AI LIST and rename it 'aigroup_depot'. If you name it like this before you will Zeilung out as well

9) Directly below the paragraph, type 'aigroup_depot_typgroup'
How many buses run on in that new depot - say you have 2 trips, and both are replaced
Type a random number say
3791
then either leave the space below blank, or give it a name. The name must be EXACTALY the same as repaint name you wish to acustom it to

10) Save up and load up!

......and when in editor the ai box is blank

that's whats causing the problem your seeing. When you follow Flippy's instructions and have the bus correctly set up on the AI List, you'll be able to select the AI in that field in te editor.

I'm still here, but taking a back seat, due to real life workload, and Mr Drive is doing a great job of managing the forum. smile.png

Click above for the link for the guide book on AI repaints.
Please back up the map you are editing before editing - this being OMSI, it can mess up, 'Cos its possible!

Very well presented guide Flippy

Just one comment; the method you've outlined is required to set up a given bus and it's specific repaints/liveries, however if people just solely want to set up a bus type as AI (and aren't too fussed about placing specific repaints) there is an easier method.

1). Browse to the map you want to add AI to, and to the AIList.cfg file. (OMSI\Maps\[your map]\TTData). Open the AiList.cfg. Go to the [ailist] entry (at the top). Add the addon bus's file location to the [aiIList] entry. In the below example, I've added the LiAZ 677m as the 12th entry on the AI list. (shown in bold). The number 12 is important as you'll see.

[ailist]
0
-1
23
vehicles\MAN_SD200\MAN_SD77.bus
vehicles\MAN_SD200\MAN_SD80.bus
vehicles\MAN_SD200\MAN_SD81.bus
vehicles\MAN_SD200\MAN_SD82.bus
vehicles\MAN_SD200\MAN_SD83.bus
vehicles\MAN_SD200\MAN_SD83_RLB.bus
vehicles\MAN_SD200\MAN_SD84.bus
vehicles\MAN_SD200\MAN_SD85.bus
vehicles\MAN_SD202\MAN_D86.bus
vehicles\MAN_SD202\MAN_D87.bus
vehicles\MAN_SD202\MAN_D88.bus
vehicles\MAN_SD202\MAN_D92.bus
vehicles\LiAZ 677m\LiAZ 677m.bus
vehicles\MAN_F90\AI_MAN_F90_Wechselbruecke.bus
vehicles\MB_W123_230E\AI_mb_w123_230e_cab.bus
vehicles\VW_Golf_2\AI_VW_Golf_2.bus
vehicles\VW_Golf_2\AI_VW_Golf_2.bus
vehicles\VW_Golf_2\AI_VW_Golf_2.bus
vehicles\MB_W123_230E\AI_mb_w123_230e.bus
vehicles\MB_W123_230E\AI_mb_w123_230e.bus
vehicles\MB_W123_230E\AI_mb_w123_230e.bus
vehicles\VW_T3\VW_T3_Van.ovh
vehicles\Opel_Manta_B\ai_opel_manta_b.ovh
vehicles\Citr_BX\BX.ovh

2). Now add a new entry below the [ailist] entry above, with the below:-

[aigroup]
Tatra_LiAZ <---- create (any) name for your AI group here
1
12
Tatra_Regional <---- name of the map goes here

In the above example, the 'Tatra LiAZ' is the name of your new AI group (you can call it anything), the '1' is telling OMSI that there is 1 bus in this group. The '12' is the number that the bus appears on the full [ailist] at the top (remember we placed it 12th on the list?). Finally, the last line on the [aigroup] entry is the map that this ai group will be used on (always the map that this AIList.cfg belongs to).

If you wanted other buses in this new group (not just the LiAZ that we added above), simply increase the '1' entry above to however many buses you are adding, then list the bus's sequence.

So for example, this entry......

[aigroup]
Tatra_LiAZ
1
11
12
Tatra_Regional

.......would add the SD202 D92, and the LiAZ, as it is adding '2' entries, and they are entry numbers 11 and 12 on the [ailist].

3). Finally, you need to tell each 'tour' in your timetables on the map, to use your new [aigroup]. This can be done in 2 posible ways. The first is the easiest, but only if you're familiar with the OMSI Editor; Simply open the editor, click on the 'Tracks & Trips' tab, Press the 'timetables' button. Now select each 'Line' and within that each 'tour'. There is a drop down list on the left of the timetable screen called 'AI-Veh.-Group'. Simply select the name of your new [aigroup] from the drop down list. Do this for all lines / tours that you want to change. Press close, then FILE and SAVE in the Editor. YOU'RE DONE!

The other way to change your tours to use your new [aigroup] is to browse to MAPS/[your map]/TTData and open each .TTL file in this folder. Under each 'Tour' entry (Eg.. Tour 1, Tour 2, etc), you will see the current AI group that the tour is using. Simply replace this with the new name of the ai group that weve set up above.

Eg.

------------------------------------
[newtour]
1
Tatra_LiAZ
1023
------------------------------------

(Repeat for all tours).

YOU'RE DONE!

This enables you to use selected buses (addon or otherwise) on a map, either alone, or with other buses. But if you want specific liveries on your map, use Flippy's method. :)

It's a code that relates to the days that the tours run on .... eg Mon-Fri, Sats, Suns, Hols, etc. Each specific combination has a code. :)

Hi David thanks, that was a lot easier and i got it to work :)
The only other question that i have is, how do i get a specific repaint ie: Route Branded Bus setup onto specifics routes ie: sd202 with route branding for route 38 to run on route 38.

Any answers would be great :)

You need to follow step for step. If you say, oh if I just rename this here now, it will cause errors. You have to program a group before you make it a group.
