Hi all Aussiecop et al,
Just a quick question regarding the A-109's drum type or "single pointer" Altimeter.
I have searched through the ND forums and could not find anything on the subject and noted the real world flyers on the beta test team.
I too have over 5'000 hours, real world (fixed Wing).
Ranging from piston, turbine and Jet aircraft.
But in all my experience have not come across an altimeter quite like the one on your Agusta 109., Which I absolutely love by the way.
It seems to operate in a counterintuitive and incorrect fashion. i.e all of the Single pointers I have come across, the single point needle makes one full 360 degree sweep of the clock face
every 1000 feet,
Not one full Sweep every 10,000 feet as this would I think would be redundant for any helicopter.
This is not the case with your rendition, has anyone else noticed this.
Also I noticed, 2 inconsistencies with the indicator barrels within the altitude read out window (Kohlsmann?). firstly they rotate the wrong way on climb and descent as the numbered barrels usually and intuitively rotate in a clockwise fashion on descent, with the indicated atlitude units decreasing on descent and conversely rotating counter-clockwise and increasing in number during a climb.
This is not the case with yours
Secondly I noticed that normally Single point Altimeters usually change in increments of hundreds of feet, not every foot of altitude which is the case with yours.
the the last 2 digits i.e tens of feet on the barometric altitude are usually fixed and again usually redundant.
I'm sure its an oversight by the gauge developer, however to my eyes, and I would have thought most experienced pilots,t stands out like a sore thumb
As most instruments are ergonomic by function and their development history is written in blood,. add to that the A-109 was designed as a Safe stable Multi engined IFR Helicopter platform
I would have thought the altimeter in your rendition of this helicopter would be the same as any other. so I thought I would add this to your developing "SNAG" list.
As I believe using this altimeter in its current form on a dark night or hard ball IFR would be quite a handfull if not extremely Dangerous.
I do hope your developers may address this for your next patch for an otherwise remarkable piece of software.
Am looking forward to your thoughts regarding this.
In Good Faith,
Terry

Today I departed a pacific coast airport at 0748 local time. Flew for about 20 minutes and landed at my destination and the on board clock read 0704. Thinking maybe I read the clock wrong I shut down, refueled and departed again at 0720 flew for 15 minutes and landed at 0835. I shut the helicopter down and set the simulation rate to 64x and watched the clock. It appears to be change the hour at 30min past instead of at 00.
Thanks

i wanna show a lighting system issue on the aw109 rega model.
When you turn on the anti-collision lights, a small taxi light appears under the rotor, over the anti collision light.
AS the picture shows...

I agree, and it is a taxi/landing light of some sort, it illuminates the ground. Unfortunately lighting isnt handled through the .CFG so there is no easy fix for this. It will have to go into a future patch.
@Touchanair,
I agree the Altimeter is reading incorectly. The needle should indeed do a sweep every 1,000 feet.
There are some drum types that "roll" all numbers, how ever I would agree that most do not.

Good question! I have not heard any word on any patches. I personally would like to see the altimeter fixed ASAP, and we might as well eliminate the landing light while we are in there.

Edit: it's caused by random falls in the engines' power, but I have no idea what's causing that. The collective just randomly falls, decreasing power.
