Hi Mister Womble,

I used your sceneryobjects in my new version of Spandau. But there''s something wrong with the highrise1 and the terraced house. It looks like they're have an invisible extension on the front and when you're passing them it's like bumping into a invisible wall. I've made a piece of film about this, i see if can link to it.

By the way they are really beautiful.

Film

with kind regards!

See the solution given by Thiago.

Mr Drive,

try opening the files thouse.sco and highrise1.sco and replace the [collision_mesh] tag with [collisionmesh]

This worked to me.

I just had this problem with a new model I am testing. Never had this problem with the terraced house though. To correct the problem I just deleted the model in the editor, and then then created a new one, and the problem disappeared.

I read on the OMSI Forum that there is a problem with the collision detection, which the makers know about as they have had problems in the past with it. Maybe there collision problem is with the editor not positioning the collision box in the correct places sometimes.

Anyway gald you got it to work.

edit.

I have had another look at this and I can see the problem. When I import into blender the models are correctly oriented. Using blender I then export as a .x file so I can then use the converter to convert to o3d. When I convert them I untick x:file z up as if I leave this ticked the model is exported on it's side. This is what is causing the problem. I need to orientate them differently in blender so that I can leave this ticked.

I will convert all the models and release a new version of scenery models tomorrow, then renaming the collision_mesh will not be needed.

There are still a few things about Omsi we have to discover, often in a hard way. :)

Keep up the good work, new scenery is very welcome!

In a very hard way, I had to alter all the models and then convert them all again :bleep: All because with OMSI the top is the front and the front is the top

Version 1.1

Fixes the issues with the collision box. Also includes 10 detached houses with garages. The design and brick work is all the same, but the windows and doors are different on each model.

If you have version 1.0 installed then delete the building folder before installing version 1.1.

Thanks for the comments...but stop it you are making me blush

A couple of additions for V1.1

Two more Highrise buildings, and the Denton Hotel. I had to keep the Denton a bit simpler than the real one to keep the poly count down, but I think it looks a bit like it.

Please Note. This download is only for the new model files, for the other models you still need to download version 1.1.

Can't believe I missed that the DENTON was included in this pack!

:king:

Brilliant work Womble, is it ok to use it on the Newcastle map?

Cheers,

David

They are free for everyone to use. I have now added this to my readme. When I uploaded them I fully expected the user to use them and then distribute them with there map/maps. All I expect is a mention as the original author.

I have finally put all the models in one download. All other link will now be deleted. The new download conatins all the models in the previous posts, but they have been improved by me now knowing how to get rid of the shininess issue. If you have a previous version installed then delete these first. If you have already used previous versions in your map, then do not worry as the new files use the same names and locations as the originals.

@David. The Metro_Sign is included in the download. I have increased the size of it, and added night lighting (Do they light up at night ? ) If it needs to be bigger then let me know.

Womble, you are officially a GENIUS.

Posted Image

I can't tell you how realistic that looks. The (real) Denton Hotel is about 2 miles from my Mother's home and I pass it every week. (While travelling down the West Road*). The junction looks EXACTLY like we now have in OMSI ! The only difference is that there is a roundabout on the junction but from memory I believe it's traffic light controlled most of the time, so it does in fact work more like the lights we have on the map.

I will release an update to the map (V1.3) tomorrow; Tues 25th July, as I now have a lot of good changes and I want to get them out to you guys n gals. :)

PS.... Metro Pole looking fab

Cheers,

* Colloquially in Newcastle, West Road tends to be known as 'The West Road'. Although officially it is 'West Rd'.
