ETO Warning

MS Security Essentials
Trojan Dropper: Win 32/Dunik!rts
Alert level High
I immediately had MSSE remove the threat, which was confirmed. When trying to finish installation in a non-default location, modifying the two *.bat files per the instructions, I could not find ETOGLSwapper.bat - it was missing. It is possible that this was the infected file removed by MSSE. When trying to run the game, I got the message
Multi CFS3
X Problem modifying file!
Could get no further. I thought you should know.

Thanks Jay, I will need some time to conquor my fear of "allowing" a Red "High" Alert Level to pass through - LOL! But I trust you. The company in question is Microsoft.
I am surprised that others have not had - and reported - the same experience.

It might have been a new update in the MS software that has caused it, I downloaded the file just to triple check and Kaspersky flags it green, so does Norton
Could well be, I run Win7 64-bit and recently installed SP1. Thanks again for your attention.

Hi guys - I am new here. I tried to download CFS3 ETO Expansion 1.0. The file size was listed as 346.02 Mb, but turned out to be 1.17Gb! While installing I got a red box warning as follows
I recently came across my old CSF3 disks and decided to install it again. I also downloaded and installed all the ETO files from here... thanks a million by the way, it brought a whole new dimension to the old sim I remember... and every one of the updates showed a false positive from Comodo Security Suite. I'm used to this and simply told it to allow them. Not sure what triggers the false alarms but it seems to be the norm any time you add or update something that involves changes to the registry or to an existing binary file.
The false positives are due to a freeware batchfile creation that controls three different icons/*.exe files. These are the ETO BDP Zapper, ETO ZX Zapper, and ETO Backup. Mostly, it's the BDP Zapper causing the problems.
Our primary programmer, Bob Park (rbp71854), purchased a payware version, and now there is no problem at all. This fix is in the ETO 1.40 Update package, available here at Aussiex. Just follow the instructions these three items, and you shouldn't have to worry about anti-virus problems again.
Also, if using Windows 7, you will need to make some adjustments. Just follow this link: http://www.sim-outho...s-7-install-fix
If you have any other problems or questions, please post them here. We want to hear from you.

Hey...Ed Burk here...since I now have "iolo system Shield" it reports that the ETO Zapper is a trojan and will not allow it to load...in addition, the labels on the left side of the screen (when any Era is chosen) is missing the top item and the other labels are not catigorized... Any comments or suggestions? Thanks, Ed Burk
Ed,
Yes, it's a false positive. It's not a trojan horse.
Do you have ETO 1.40? If not, get it and install it. The Zapper and a couple of other files were replaced with ones that were made with a program. to prevent that problem from happening.
ETO 1.0 goes on first, then ETO 1.20, and then ETO 1.40. There is no ETO 1.30, as it was replaced and added to by ETO 1.40.
Try reinstalling.
It might be your computer screen resolution, too.
