Utilities :: FPS_Limiter_0.2

Recommended Posts

index.php?app=downloads&module=display&section=screenshot&id=1598

File Name: FPS_Limiter_0.2

File Submitter: JayKae

File Submitted: 06 Feb 2011

File Category: Utilities

Instructions for this little utility:

1. Ensure you have Java installed. If not, go here http://www.java.com/en/

2. Unzip FPS_Limiter_0.2.rar to where ever you want it (I unpack it to a new directory in my FSX folder)

3. Open your new directory and run FPS_Limiter_GUI.jar

4. Select D3D9 in the Settings tab

5. Click on "search executable" and point the dialogue window to your fsx.exe file in your FSX directory

6. Enter your maximum fps value desired, most recommend using 30

7. You can set logging and OSD options if you like but the OSD is unnecessary and I don't need a log so I don't bother.

8. Click "create bat" to create a new batch file which will likely be named something like fsx.exe.limited.bat and will appear in your FPS limiter directory.

9. Make a link to that and use it to launch FSX. A second window will open with FSX, leave it open or minimise it until you close FSX.

10. Enjoy!

(Thanks to Warpspider)

Beispiel:

fps_limiter /r: OGL "c:\spiele\quake4\quake4.exe" <- Nutzt OGL, also explizit angeben

zoran,

check the date.  This post is over 5 1/2 years old and hardly applicable any longer with the newer and better sim launchers available.

Have you tried using the default Microsoft Program Uninstaller? Also as said by "Spud" this is a very old way of limiting.

In the meantime, I believe that setting the fps inside FSX will override whatever is set by fps_limiter anyway (I think???).

Personally I have my internal FSX settings at Unlimited and my external Nvidia settings limited to 30fps. That is not what everyone does however.

It all depends upon what hardware you have, where you have your sliders set and numerous other factors which I won't go into here because there is already heaps available on the web.

And remember the old saying "if it ain't broke...don't fix it".

Cheers Dan
