OZx is a bunch of talented and dedicated scenery developers, aircraft painters and technical support crew who produce freeware scenery and freeware aircraft repaints for FSX. With an emphasis on small air strips and GA aircraft, our aim is to make 'low and slow' flying around Australia and the US the best possible experience.

Over the last couple of years we have produced more than 200 airstrips across the length and breadth of Australia, plus a number of scenery POI's to supplement VFR flying More recently we have expanded our offerings to include the US and Italy. In addition the group produces aircraft repaints which specialise in Aussie registered aircraft and our site hosts repaints from external contributors.

Our air strips are designed to co-exist within ORBX's FTX scenery, both the Australian and the expanding US packages. Though it is not required, we suggest that for the best experience of our scenery, you would do well to have the ORBX packages.

Jay, hehe, I too like the KIS principle. This is all I was thinking of. It just needs to let the world know in the most simple terms what we do, but that's painting as well as scenery, and also your involvement. Here's my KIS take on that.

If people are happy and agree I can work something up with you.

With regard to the selection of images (always an issue) we can rotate them every six months or whenever it suits Jay when he's doing his site maintenance.

Okay, so we have some text.

Here's a suggestion to try to wrap this up. From my calculations there are about 6 highly active strip designers, and maybe the same number of active aircraft painters. We could leave the three images above the text (it's nicer to see images first) and then the text, and then three more rows of three images wide underneath the text. We need this anyway to help balance the space on the righthand side of the portal page.

Could each dev who'd like one image of one of their strips up on the portal post that image in this thread before the 18th of January. Jay are you okay to assemble that and my text some time when you have the time? Don't worry about size or about an OZx frame..these will look better just as they are. Jay or I can crop them to match the ones I illustrated once they're all in. Bear in mind though that they'll be landscape format.

Some suggestions: we'd like a mixture of some aerial views and some 'on the ground' shots. Try to get ones where there was good resolution imagery as the base (unless you've photoshopped or poly'd over it). Also, please steer away from any images where white roofs haven't been removed from the PR.

I'll begin this by adding my 'shot' in the post below.

Jay, in the text I wrote on the example homepage above, I wasn't writing a text for the scenery developers. It's a text which covers everyone: scenery developers, aircraft painters, and you, technical support! *lol*

Again, I don't mind if someone wants to suggest some changes to the words, but it's not going to make sense if we add some words about the painters to what's I've already written if you see what I mean. I'd deliberately kept the whole thing very short and to the point, not mentioning about releases in the past, how we make strips, or painters paint, because all that's in the release docs. Likewise, we advertise pretty well when new releases are planned.

Edit: Jay, again just to clarify, I don't think we need all those words in your opening post at all. Those words relate to release 3.0 of scenery, nothing more and nothing less. For the homepage, I'm suggesting we have just what I wrote above in those few lines. That to me is a description of what OZx is. Maybe that's where the confusion lies.

Hi there,

I`m a great Ozzie fan in Fsx as well, and i tried to download the latest freeware version of the Ozx product. It went well, til I came at the point of 99.9% and the download crashed. Is there any other way to get this great scenery??
