OZx P3D Wind Animated Windsock Installation and Update 20/04/2018

MARCH 10 2018

For all P3D users , here is the OZx P3D Animated Windsock installation thread , all info and updates will be posted here and dated.

The process starts (if you do not already have it ) with the installation of SODE (Sim Object Display Engine) obtained from here ...https://sode.12bpilot.ch/?page_id=9#

please be aware that SODE is licensed material under  a Creative Commons Attribution-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License

once installed to the default location(recommended) you will have the following folder structure in your PC...

The folder OZx_Windsocks should be placed here, this folder contains all the SimObjects required by the OZx windsocks released . There  are white and orange windsocks , a pole and a  dark platform surrounded by 15 white cones as per the regulations. This folder is here to download ., and will be updated as the models change. (OZx_Windsocks.zip )

All the .xml files used to create Windsocks are to be placed here. they indicate the type of windsock , the pole and most important the location of the windsock.  note ONLY .xml files go in here.

The current availability of windsocks is in the file xml.zip available here .

There are other files and folders but are not relevant to this installation and should not be changed in any way.

From now on any new release of windsock will be done in this post , so keep an eye on it and review it frequently as we are creating windsocks weekly.

You would have the current SODE structure in place ,  the only change you have to make before adding the OZx_Windsocks folder to C:\ProgramData\12bPilot\SODE\SimObjects  is to DELETE from the folder the two old Simobject folders named OZx_WS_Or and OZx_WS_Wh, ( they have been consolidated into one).

Anything you add to the  C:\ProgramData\12bPilot\SODE\xml  is OK and can be overwritten.

This post is to be locked . Any questions or support should be via a post in the OZx Support Forum Section.

Thank you and Safe Flying!!
