Staff Scenery :: OZx YBMA Mt Isa

Recommended Posts

Mount Isa Airport, ICAO: YBMA, is an airport serving the western Queensland city of Mount Isa, Australia. It is served by a variety of scheduled regional airlines, with flights to Brisbane, Townsville and Cairns as well as several other regional centres, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Isa_Airport.

While Mount Isa itself is a city in the Gulf Country region of Queensland, Australia. It came into existence because of the vast mineral deposits found in the area. Mount Isa Mines is one of the most productive single mines in world history, based on combined production of lead, silver, copper and zinc.

With an estimated urban population of 21,821 as at June 2015,Mount Isa is the administrative, commercial and industrial centre for the state's vast north-western region. Although situated in an arid area, the artificial Lake Moondarra 19 kilometres (12 mi) north of the city on the Leichhardt River provides both drinking water and an area for watersports, birdwatching and recreation. Locals often refer to Mount Isa as "The Isa"

You may not have realised it Flukey, but this opens up the whole North of Qld right across to the Red Heart,. Well it does for me anyway. What a treat this is.

I drove the Barkley Highway with my family when it was a black dirt road as far a Tennant Creek back in 1972. Thanks again for all your efforts. Teecee.

Wow, its taken me nearly a year to download and install this Airport. My loss, could have been enjoying for so much longer. It was only when i went to install the Remote Qld strips that i realised I didn’t have YBMA. But let me say Rob (@flukey) this is more awesome work in line with all your other great AU Airports. Here is a link to a collection of screenshots on a run I made today in my Premier 1A. Please feel free to use any as you please. Thanks again for your efforts and skills.

Note: shot 59 show the default airport, 61 shows a new flight after loading your version. Cheers Anton
