Noticed what seems to be a driver with a First Bus heading down New Manchester Road in Warrington with a Leyland Olympian (I think). I doubt it was operating the 100 route as it had no Paper Number, no Led Desty & No passengers onborad! Just the driver and the bus.

Don't know how it lasted all the way to Warrington, its pretty much a straight non-stop run (Except for passengers) because they always get caught up at the Trafford Centre!

Not My Photo!

It is a Volvo Olympian - Northern Counties Palatine I . These are good buses, can cope easily at 50mph (which First Buses are limited to here). The only thing I can think of with it having to Desti on is it is going for withdrawl to another depot...

I don't know the exact type of the bus but it looked a lot like that :P

Why would it go through Warrington though?

Surely it would go across the M62 if it was going Liverpool direction or down M6 if it was going down South?

Our local bus company, Valley Flyer uses two types of MAN Buses:

The MAN 12.223:

And the MAN 11.190 (My Favourite):

cityline603.jpg

I think they use ZF transmissions because of their kickdown sound.

Western Sydney's got a wide range of vehicles serving said area... I'll jolt down a few right now.

Where I live (Region 1-Sydney's public transport network's split into regions) there's a large assortment of vehicles. On the old side you've got Westbus St Marys and Windsor's Volvo B10M Mk IIIs with CC "Mk 88" bodywork-which will sadly be departing Region 1 for the Hills region in three days' time-and then you have Busways' Mercedes-Benz O405s, which are 5-10 years older than the B10Ms but still lack A/C and are being exodussed out by low-floors, although a small number have come down here recently (Busways'll be taking over all of Region 1 on 6 October). On the new side of things you've got fancy new Volvo B7RLE Euro 5 buses, still slightly new Scania K94UB/K230UB buses with varying degrees of CC or Volgren bodywork and the ugliest buses I've ever met... Busways' new MAN 18.310 and 18.320 HOCL-R-NL low-floor vehicles with VST bodies.

Transport for NSW: Still three steps behind Perth (and Europe) in terms of usefulness, organisation and usage of rear doors. :o
