On #581 from the Bowdenham thread, Longyear mentioned:

It would be great to see a single tour that interconnects the 375 with let's say the X53.... So you drive the 375 from Herefield to Apsley, then (same bus) change to a X53 operate right through to Knockhill Business Park. Posted Image ......It could even be set up so that 'through journeys' right from Herefield to Knockhill were possible. Posted Image

So giving the residents of Herefield a through service right to Knockhill Business Park, for those that work there. Posted Image

Say an AI driver finished line 375. Will the driver turn the destination display to X53 automatically and then (without disappearing or going back to depot etc) pick up X53?

How is this possible if I want to make this happen in my map (in Map Editor)? Thanks!

Yes. I have this set up in Newcastle Pro, where upon reaching the Route 36 terminus, alternating buses automatically change displays to either Route 30 or Route 31 and continue. Posted Image

(Because that's how it is in real life on those routes).

Just needs to be managed carefully, timetable and profile-wise, within the Editor.

But one you have TTR and TTP files set up it's just a case of setting up a tour that runs TTP (the first route) then straight into the interconecting route's TTP.... of course as with any TTR files, the end spline of the first route must coincide with the start spline of the second route.

If any of this has gone over your head, time to start reading the OMSI Editor some more. Posted Image

I'm still here, but taking a back seat, due to real life workload, and Mr Drive is doing a great job of managing the forum. smile.png

Also, if you do this with the shared spline (last spline of first route and first of second route) not being on a bus stop on either routes, the bus will change its annax/blinds while moving, and if it is early it won't create a huge traffic jam as the 30/31/36 does on the Newcastle map ;) It will not stop to wait for timetable departure before it stops at a 'normal' terminus - one with the final stop at the final spline.

hmm... I had a Route on a modded Grundorf that I wanted to go up to the top of the hill to a Garden Centre (Buernhof) and wait for 3 mins during the trip, then continue back to the Krankenhaus Hospital via a different route, but when I set up a 3 min stop time at Buernhof, everyone got on, the bus drove off (was already a minute early) and go to the next stop about 4 mins early  Anyone know how this is possible?

All my mods and objects are available for use on your maps unless otherwise stated. Name me as the creator of the object or mod and you're free to use it on or with your Freeware or Payware map (This includes including the ZIP file for the download with your map. However, a link should be added to the download page so that users can download improved versions if they wish). Also, you may not edit my mods or objects and release without seeking my permission first. Thanks :)

Hmm... can you please refer to the page it's mentioned in the SDK? Thanks ;)

Give over! ...... Do you want me to make you a cup of tea as well?

If you want to make a map that 100% works, you need to know that OMSI Editor Manual (not the SDK by the way) inside out. ;)

Haha! Posted Image Wait not SDK? Then I haven't read the OMSI Editor Manual at all....

Edit: Is the OMSI Editor Manual a separate download? Somehow the SDK (Part 1: Map Editor) that is provided in the purchase pretty much explained it all.. but I still couldn't find the part about interconnections.

I think I've found the starting point of the answer, can someone please confirm this:

"ONE tour is equal to ONE bus. So a tour can be operated by one bus only?"

But I've still not entirely sure what to do to make it work.

Only one bus can ben running on one tour - with the one exception of a player bus running additional (there's a checkbox for this in the timetable window in the simulator).

But you can duplicate a tour to run twice at the same time (I think) to get a double bus.

Yep, thanks for the confirmation. I've ran through the SDK the second time, but still somehow my copy doesn't show how to set up a continuous connection line. :(

There isn't a chapter saying "How to set up an interconnecting line" ...... you have to read and understand all there is to know about setting up Tracks, Trips and Timetables, then doing interconnecting lines (and circular lines) just follow the same underlying principles, with some common sense applied.

Early you've said "it's not the SDK". but I have the part 1 of SDK (which is the map editing) and it seems like it covers probably all aspects of map making.

When OMSI was released, there was no SDK, just an OMSI Editor Manual, so that is what I learnt to make maps from. If the content is now in the SDK then great, what are still asking questions for, that are wholly covered in there?

Its wirks prety much like that in israel.
Lets say driver X from kfar saba take bus Y from kfar saba CBS to tel aviv CBS as line 567, after he arrives to tel aviv and downloading the passangers he change the number of the line(remain with the same bus)
And from there he can go to any where in israel, usually driver from kfar saba go to Holon or Bat Yam, and then return to tel aviv and then returning home to kfar saba.
All in a 8/12 hours shift.
I also met drivers that came from kfar saba to Eilat or drivers from the north that are doing local routes in the south or central israel.
