My new map, HIGHWAY! has been released.

============================================================================
The map features an 18km express route, from Hartford, Connecticut to New Haven, Connecticut. Although the places are real, the map and route is essentially fictional. Call at 5 intermediate interchange bus stops along the way.
============================================================================

Please note:-
  • Do not confuse "Highway!" (this map) with the "UK Express" project. They are very different projects.
  • Please read the download page before downloading.
  • This map was made with contribution from Flippy1008, and many other custom object creators, including Tony A. Posted Image Thank you to all.
IMPORTANT:

> The first time you run the map, make sure you select "LOAD MAP WITHOUT BUSES".

> Make sure you select the correct DEPOT (HOF) File, which is called "Highway".

> There are no 'rollblinds' with this version.

Grab the map here :- http://aussiex.org/forum/index.php?/files/file/2605-highway/

Thanks.
LONGYEAR.

Please note Paul, that as per the notes on the D/l page, this is far from being the 'real' New Haven Posted Image .... it's a fictional version. But you can still simulate that you're popping down to New Haven from Hartford, to pick up a 'bit' for your bike!

PS.... that's a long way to go, NJ to Connecticut !

HAHA, I totally know this is a fictional New Haven Longyear but I can still simulate going to the shop :)

It IS a long way indeed... ~150 miles which is why I got the new truck that can now tow the bike back and forth instead of always riding it!!! it can be 1 3/4 hours (quickest) to 4 hours (longest) depending on traffic!

I've asked my friend to add it to omniBus database and it's now compatible! :)

Old good Greyhound bus. Scenicruiser! Posted Image

But of course somebody can make that Greyhound paint, and other Greyhound paints for some other buses.

I've just opened OMSI through LogmeIn and I can see OMSI in full resolution! I was spawned in New Haven terminal and loved the structure of it! Can't wait to try it tomorrow
I noticed that the map is using those barriers from 3D TransStudio
They have a small bug which prevents some transparency in the windows (some of you might have noticed that in a topic here sometime ago)
This patch won't eliminate the issue totally, but you will be able to see through some of the glasses:

http://dl.dropbox.co...sparent_mod.rar
Extract to \SceneryObject\3dtranstudio\

Attention, this is not an issue with Longyear's map, it's a simple 3rd-party scenery object issue :)

Many thanks Thiago. B).

I can't take credit for the nice "New Haven Bus Interchange" : it was built in it's entirety by Flippy. :) .... But yes, I noticed that buses were not visible through the glass. Thanks for that part-fix mate! B)

Cheers.

NOTE: This map really separates the 'men' from the 'boys' !! ......... if you play OMSI like a toy and drive your bus flat out all of the time, you will collide constantly in this map. The AI cars on the highway change in volume and when it is busy, it gets congested (just like in real life) and you must pay a lot of attention to the vehicles in front of you. Also, you must pay a lot of care when entering the 'fenced' bus stop at Hartford, otherwise you will collide with the barricade. It is perfectly possibly to manoeuvre any bus in OMSI through those barricades, but if you don't drive with care, and don't use your mirrors you will collide.

Finally, the MAN LIONS CITY add-on bus is highly recommended for this map. It drives beautifully on the map, and the timetables have been set with the Lions City's 75km/h top speed in mind.

Although the speed limit may be higher, and the cars may drive faster, remember, you are still a service bus .... you should be driving at approx 75kmh on the highway sections, and 50kmh and 30kmh in the sections with those speed limits!

Mr. Longyear, you are THE MAN! This is my kind of map. Just finished friving my first roundtrip on Highway in the Benz O405. Magnificent work! Going back now for two more trips, one each with the Lion City and the Liaz. I'll probably make a new AI list for this with the Benz and the Liaz. I can't get the Lion City to appear as an AI.
