Forget the pretty face... That starfield is really the eyecatcher! Anyone can slap a photo on a wing/fin....

Very catching design!

Thank you for your comments.

Chris, I take note which you do not appreciate.
Thank you for your sincerity. I regard that as a positive and constructive thing.
"... (and I do mean that in the nicest possible way!)" => yes, that is kind. Thanks to that I did not put an end to my days ! Posted Image

I would like just to react on two points.
(English is not my mother tongue, please be lenient. I use the few words which I know. Perhaps they do not reflect correctly my thought.
But there is no animosity in my matter).

1) I mainly do fictitious repaints, firstly for my pleasure, secondly for the pleasure of sharing them and thirdly because for me it is easier than to reproduce a real one.
In this case, I am pleased to do it and to share it soon, but I also have the additional pleasure to make happy the friend who asked it to me. Without the girl, he would have been disappointed !

2) " ...Anyone can slap a photo on a wing/fin... "
Without wanting to create a debate or a polemic, I find that a little reducing.
That gives the impression that you are locked up in an ivory tower.
Yes it is easy, but only for the people who are familiar with programs like Photoshop, The Gimp, ...
Ozx, Avsim, FlightSim, Sim-Outhouse, Simviation, ... would they have so much success if that were so easy for everybody ?
Jankees' repaints would have reaches the 100,000 downloads and more ?
You use Photoshop with mastership and I am far from having your know-how. (I always have in memory your post "A paint job for masochists"). When I need a national insignia or a logo, I proceed in the same way, I ... slap a photo vectorial clipart on a wing/fin.
So, for me is not bad.

Thank you for your comprehension.

Richard, if I may.
Interpreting Chris's post for you.
"Forget the pretty face... That starfield is really the eyecatcher! Anyone can slap a photo on a wing/fin...."
He would mean - The pictures are really nice but the right wing is amazing.

To show how good it is, I am seriously thinking of getting this plane just to fly your lovely paint.

Cheers Trev

Oops big mistake ! Thanks for your intervention Trev.
I made a very, very bad translation of his comment. Shame on me.

Now, he probably will want to kill me ! Posted Image

I will remember the lesson.
I will delete the starfield and keep it for a special repaint that I will dedicate to chris.

Richard,

Ref : I will delete the starfield and keep it for a special repaint that I will dedicate to chris.

Please do not delete the starfield. Chris and many others think this is the best part of the paint.
Leave it exactly how it is. I would love to fly this paint when I get the plane.
Best regards

Cheers Trev

Of course I was not being unkind. But seriously - I love the starfield pattern on the gold wing. That really is the eyecatcher for me and that gold metallic? Simply beautiful!

As for the "Forget the pretty face" comment... British understatement... Scarlett Johansen? Who's she? Will she still have the beauty of a Sophia Loren in forty years? I doubt it. (Mind you, by then Loren's make-up artists might be retired :) ) Mind you, for some wierd reason I still think Melina Mercouri was one of my teenage crushes.

And having flown the Vans in Microsoft Flight, I am sorely tempted to get this one for FSX.

Fictitious paints? Me too mostly. Getting permission to do the real world ones is great fun but takes time.

Rubbish! I agree that you had every right to misunderstand me - I am not the easiest of people to read. No apologies from your side are needed. I should be the one to say sorry. I do know the work that goes into it - after all, I usually draw all my vectors from scratch - even if I could download a good photo quality one. Vectors always give the best results.

Stars - stars are difficult - and your wing tells me more about your ability than the fin.

Very hard to wrap...as this picture shows

Thank you all. A special thank you to Chris for his feed back.
I heard you. I left stars and added some on top of the fuselage.

Here the work of these last weeks.
A new repaint almost finished for the Carenado malibu.
The real aircraft is a Malibu Meridian with a shorter nose, based in UK and regularly seen in France, Germany, Netherlands and Belgium. Here : http://www.airport-d...oto/188790.html
