My Grundorf map is now 'boosted' to a great level of enjoyment with this specific repaints.
Thanks very much mate!

Cheers Mark... Not quite up to your level if I'm honest on the statics, and every time I get close you go and chuck out another belter! ;)

Sorry Adrian.

Incidentally, as I'm sure you are aware, the SDxx and D86 static vehicles are real easy to do because you can simply cut and paste in the "SD77_01_xxxxxxxxx.dds" file of a standard repaint. You just need to make sure you maintain the bottom right-hand-corner which is different and then paste in the wheels, re-size and fit to suit. You also need to maintain the wipers and blindbox textures from the original static vehicle files as these are not on standard repaint files; all this can be done easily with cuting and pasting as layers. Simples!

The E2H83 is a different story! With the SYT Pack, the E2H83 repaint was created by cutting up the repaint texture of my SYT SD85 and pasting the bits in the right places. However, with the Sheffield Omnibus E2H83, I wanted to do it better so I went right back to basics and created a repaint file and textures to use with the OMSI Repaint Tool (i.e. the MU, AD, AL etc files). It was tricky, but worth the effort in the end as my next one will be a lot simpler............

That's a great idea doing that so it works with the repaint tool. Did you even create all the black and white template thingy bitmaps too?

I was looking at the Jelcz L11 and Mercedes 0405 templates today. Actually, perhaps templates is the wrong word... 'Botchlets' is probably more apt. It realllllllly puzzles me why vehicle makers go to so much trouble to release a bus, but then just slap any old fudge of a paint job on it and provide no real base templates for repainters to work from. Would be nice if they took a leaf out of your book and did things properly!

Yes. The grey scale one was easy as I just used the function in PaintShop. The black/white one I created by using the "Alpha Channel" mask layer in the static vehicle .tga file to create a new file. Then with a little bit of adjusting of brightness and contrast, that one was done.

For some reason, PhotoShop CS5 just will not open DDS files that originate from the repaint tool. I've got an nVidia plugin to handle DDS files, so you would think that would be as good as they come, and of course it's fine at making DDS files and it can open those perfectly fine. But ones done in the repaint tool - 'computer says nooooooo'... It says the file format module can not parse the file. So, as good as your method is, unfortunately it's something I can't do until I've figured that little problem out first.
