File Name: BVG Gehen2 D92 Repaints & AI Traffic pack (for New Berlin Spandau map)
File Submitter: adrian
File Submitted: 09 Jan 2012
File Updated: 13 Mar 2012
File Category: OMSI Repaints

Pack info

A fictional BVG repaint pack based on NCT's 'Go2' colours and styling. Featuring a fleet of MAN SD202-D92s in 16 different liveries, covering all 19 lines of the New Berlin Spandau map by Cristian Skytter, plus an additional livery for the Line 55 add-on by Mr Drive.

Now also features a Gehen2 AI traffic modification which enables all AI lines in the New Berlin Spandau map to be correctly served ONLY by their corresponding, colour-coded, Gehen2 buses. All of the old-style beige AI buses have been completely removed from the map.

Note: Please ensure that you have both the New Berlin Spandau map and the Line 55 add-on installed BEFORE installing this pack!

Acknowledgements

Huge thanks and big respect to SteveB, without whom the AI traffic mod would not have been possible. Big thanks also to Cristian Skytter for kindly allowing us to edit the original map and release the modified AI traffic files. Thanks also to Mr Drive for his most excellent Line 55 add-on.

Im going to download this because I am a huge fan of branded routes and this download makes it happen!

However before I do, I noticed in the images there is a red ticket machine repaint-is this exclusive to the bus or will it overwrite it for all buses regardless of repaint used?

Hi Flippy1008!

Yes it's exclusive to this pack (and my other repaints) and won't replace it on the stock buses. Nor should it replace it on any other repaints. However, I'd always advise to back up your 'model_D92.cfg' before making any changes to it, as it's impossible to know everyone's setup.

There's a couple of options for you mate, if you don't want the red one....

1. Both red and black ticket machines are provided in the download. Instructions on how to change to black are in the Readme.txt file.

2. You can edit all of the buses CTI files to remove the new-look ticket machine completely and go back to the old-style one. Simply look for and remove the following code in each bus CTI file...

[item]
BVG Gehen 2 - 05 Rote Linie (<-- Number and line name will change with each bus)
farbschema_tex9
AB_BVG_Gehen2_D92_T1_R.bmp

Cheers

Adrian

Pick a colour that hasn't been used... I'll add one as an optional update a bit later! Posted Image

Already got grey on the night line and the base colour of all the buses is silver, so that might be a bit tricky... Leave it with me I'll think of something, and while I'm at it I'll add the 69 too... For some reason it's not listed on the map's PDF, so I missed it! Posted Image

Just updated to version 1.1
  • Now includes missing number 69 (beige linie) repaint
  • Added optional number 55 (blaugrün linie) for Mr Drive's Line 55 add-on
  • Updated Lines & IBIS Codes PDF
Apologies for this minor faux pas! Posted Image

Hiya

is there any way for the AI buses on this map to actually just show these buses with these liverys on if possible, the map would be perfect then :) :) :)

I believe it can be done. I was talking about this with my bro earlier today and he is actually in the process of reading the SDK manual where it (allegedly) explains how to do exactly what you're asking for.

Maybe a seasoned map maker could help shed some light on this in the meanwhile?

I would say this is quite doable. albeit slow process, as it would require making an AI group for each route, then editing each route to use the right AI group. And judging by the number of routes it would be quite the work load, especially since it would require you do edit every tour as well, not just the route.

So in short, it is doable...

Thanks Lockheart. Sounds like quite the job, but it would be a nice modification to have on this map with this bus pack. Worth looking into more I think!

Awesome repaints adrian!

I could have a stab at this AI however we would need to contact Christian (the map creator) for authorisation in redistribution - because you need both the edited ailist plus the map because of the changes made within the Editor (TT files)

Thanks Flippy1008, that would be great. SteveB's also looking at it as we speak, but we weren't sure if this would be something that needed Christian's approval or not. We figured you'd just need to release modified AI and TT files, and not have to re-release the map in it's entirety.

However, SteveB is literally figuring it out as he goes along, so of course that might be wrong... So perhaps that's another question we need answering by someone in the know?

Now you've brought the subject up, if you know how to get in touch with Christian that would be good. I'd much rather get his permission than not in any case out of courtesy, even if it might not technically be needed.

Many thanks!

Thanks mate! Posted Image

I think SteveB has cracked the AI traffic. I've tested it today and yesterday and it seems to work great. Only Gehen2 buses running on the map (not a single beige one in sight) and each colour-coded line is correctly served only by the same colour-coded bus!

Need to do a couple of key things before we can release the modified TT Data and AI files, but hopefully this will happen very soon! Posted Image
