  1. This was last saturday (28/8), and this is the first chance i've had to upload pics. I have video too, but I don't have the means to edit and upload at this point. Watch this space...
  2. Thanks guys, its nice to know I've been missed I'm spending this weekend in Wangaratta with the wife and kids which is nice, transmitting to you now from my parent's pc. Its the first time I've been able to get up here in almost a month thanks to a busy work schedule, so I've taken the opportunity and turned it into a long weekend by taking friday and monday off. My kids are ecstatic, which is similar to my emotional status! Anyway, I was just quickly checking the forums and downloading the latest drivers for the laptop graphics card over breakfast, and breakfast is done and the download is finished, so I'm gonna go hang out with my kids now.. Cheers, Dave.
  3. HI guys, thought I'd post a quick message to let you all know where I'm at, you may have noticed I haven't been around for a while. The good news is I haven't dropped off the planet completely. Some of you (not many) would be aware that I went through a marital break up back in october last year, and thats about when I dropped off the forums. A big part of that break up was caused by spending too much time on the forums/sim/facebook/*ahem* other stuff/too much time on the computer full stop. As a result of all that, I chose to cut myself off from the internet and gave away my PC to charity. Where I'm at now, is still seperated, still no internet, living in south eastern suburbs of melbourne trying to make myself a better person. Thats the short way of telling a long story. A couple of weeks ago I was going mad with boredom and found myself with too much money, so I went out and bought a brand new Acer Aspire laptop with core 2 duo 2.3ghz processor, 4gb ram, ati radeon 512mb graphics running w7 64bit, and set up FSX on it. I had a friend download the latest versions of OZx for me, and now I'm having a blast in my spare time hopping from field to field around oz. I'm also getting back into my old hobby of RC model aircraft a bit, having set up a couple of my old gliders, and I have an almost finished electric spitfire on the building bench and a West Wings BAe Hawk kit on its way to me from England as I type. I haven't been doing much full size flying as the weather has been terrible, but the intention is to continue my training soon flying jabiru's out of Tooradin. A friend of mine has his PPL and a couple of months ago we did a long nav in RVAC Archer VH-MRX from Moorabbin to Wangaratta to have lunch with my family, then down to Ballarat to catch up with my brother then back to Moorabbin. That was a great day out. He also has an aerobatics endorsement so we're itching for the weather to clear up a bit so we can take the Alpha 160 up for a spin or three.. Really looking forward to that. Anyway, my work for today has ended, so I can go home. Just thought I'd give you all a heads up on where I'm at. Thanks for reading! -Dave Roberts.
  4. Great stuff tommy! Just remember though, there are 3 secrets to a perfect landing.. Unfortunately, no-one knows what they are. About that nosewheel shaking, my motorbike does that if the tire pressure is too low. Might be worth looking into? Should be part of your preflight check anyway, kick the tires..
  5. ahh yes, I hadn't seen that, but thats basically what I've done to get them working. Which is fine until we fly multiplayer. If two people have the same aircraft and the same repaint, they also must have an identical cfg entry otherwise the paint won't show up on the other person's aircraft.

  7. All done mate! In the downloads ready to go.. It would've been done yesterday but I was having trouble getting alpha channels to stick. Still not quite sure what was going on there, but its sorted anyway.
  8. Version

    554 downloads

  9. Just one quick question though.. And I noticed this the other day when I downloaded G-FISH, but then forgot about it, is there any reason you don't include CFG entries with your paints? Or are they there and I'm just missing them? I have no problem creating my own, but if I do one and for example Butch does one on his computer that is slightly different, we then won't see each other correctly in multiplayer. They have to be uniform.
  10. Looks great Chris!
  11. There shouldn't be any real extra expense, unless you have already bought FSX. I originally bought FSX deluxe in 2006 not long after it came out, on sale for $99 at JB Hifi. I recently purchased FSX Gold (which includes Acceleration) for $89 at Game. You still need to install SP1, but it is included on the Acceleration disk IIRC. In my honest opinion, acceleration is a must have. The extra features and gadgets really enhance the sim experience for me.. Things like the Carrier landings as mark mentioned, but I'm also having a blast with the heli slingload challenges (and they ARE challenging!). Installing acceleration onto a fresh install of FSX rather than AFTER a million and one other addons will save you a headache or two as well.. Lots of CFG files get replaced..
  12. I'm no tubeliner fan, but those shots are awesome!! Welcome to the forums..
  13. That sounds like a plan.. Geez it'll take a while to getto Tassy in cubs! Actually, I think the shortest way of doing it would be to start at Yarram, then hop over to Deal Island, then onto Flinders. That (according to google earth) is about 100NM. Or about 2 hours in cubs. Probably about the right flight time for a friday night. Adding the leg from Philip Island to Yarram brings it to 160NM. Too far in my opinion for one session.. P.S. I haven't forgotten about all this airrace thing either, I've just been insanely busy with work, then insanely distracted by new addons I'm still trying to think of a good way to handicap different aircraft without making the whole thing too complicated... Anyone got any ideas?
  14. Hehe..
