  4. Made redundant.. again

Hi JayKae, just got your mail and made my donation... Always hate it when it happens to someone, I've been there two times now, my old job's now in Bangalore (or has it gone to china by now? Who knows...). There are almost no electronics hardware design jobs left in Europe nowadays, and in 2008 it was just about impossible to find one. Anyway, see the good, you never know where it leads you. Me and my family, we had some really bad times, but after re-inventing myself and learning a completely new profession, I am happier than ever now. Keep up the good work you do for the flightsim community! I wish you the best. Marc

I'd like to add the link to the new online help: http://freeFSmaps.pbwiki.com Have fun! Marc
  6. Connect FSX to Oziexplorer

To connect OziExplorer and FSX, you need two programs: (1) a GPS out program for FSX (FSUIPC does this, registered version only, or get XCONN here http://www.pocketfms.com/2-downutility.asp) that simulates the NMEA datastream at the simulated aircraft's position and (2) a "virtual nullmodem" program that allows you to use a pair of virtual com-ports on your PC. Look here http://sourceforge.net/projects/com0com, though I used something else which I can't remember just yet. Then all you need to do is direct the NMEA data from FSX to one side of your virtual com loop and connect OziExplorer's to the other side of the com loop as GPS input. I have done this already with OziExplorer where it did work. I am a long-time TTQV-user, however, and TTQV 3.x has a bug so it does not work this way. For the records, TTQV 4.x works with this configuration, as well as GlobalMapper, which is the program I used to create the AU map series. Best regards Marc
  7. Hi Holger, I just followed the Colorado westward from KGCN and enjoyed the spectacular scenery, especially your 10m mesh. Just Gorgeous! But just after the photoscenery ends, there's a small area (near ) where I suspect the mesh doesn't work well: Maybe it's not too hard to fix... Thanks for your continuing efforts! Marc
