  1. Orange

Has anyone started on Orange NSW? If not I will do it. And, is using USGS the only way of creating photo scenery that doesn't stop us from distributing? Ensuring there is no legal copyright snares will help. Daniel
  2. Blue Mtn Scenery

Is there an update for Orbx AU this year? 2018? Daniel
  3. Collective Project

Emerald would be nice! A lot of development has gone into that town recently. I have photos of a motel and could possibly do that. I can pitch in and help. I have tried to message (Flukey I think?) one of the WA Developers that has been doing to NW airports and I found I couldn't message anyone. Maybe because I am a new member? I have had Orbx AU since 2012. And late last year bought some more on special (End of year sale). I would like to do Kalgoorlie ( have flown there in real life as pilot and passenger and worked there-have photos but not of the airport-there are some online which could be used for reference), Northam, Perth YPPH and some others in WA. I have learnt how to use the autogen annotator (barely, would like to know how how to place 'bulk' houses?) and I think Sbuilderx has object placement? Object placement is my next skill I need to learn. Advice welcome. My one question is, USGS is one of the freeware data we can freely use in order to distribute? I want to cover my legal bases well, and preparatory work. I would also like to do some objects for Perth like the grain silos in Forrestfield, Cement tower at Cockburn Cement and the new stadium, as well as a few buildings in the CBD (like new BHP-Brookefield Place). [Name a few others anyone?] I use Blender and have never imported a building into FSX, yet. I need to make something first. Right now I would like to do some photo real scenery surrounding some towns in Australia and have accurate auto gen and objects with a decent looking airport. Right now this forum seems a little quiet so here is hoping for a little more action. Thanks for any answers. Cheers Daniel
  4. I live in WA and am interested in making some WA sceneries. Airports and areas of photoreal. But the airports will have photoreal and autogen and specially made models. If I do get some help I want to make great sceneries in the Wheatbelt and even do some NSW ones like Coonabarabran. I would also like to do some National Parks, like the Bungles Bungles, or the one near Coonabarabran. etc And unless YPPH gets done in the meantime, I would like to build a reasonable version which looks like the real thing. I have photos and would like to know if others can help. I have Sbuilder and can easily do photoreal. What I am unsure of is the legalities of it. Can someone advise? For example, Google Earth cannot be used because it cannot be distributed, right? And I would like to use a model for the runways rather than the standard.... Thanks, Daniel
  5. I head Northwest!

Thanks Flukey. They look amazing. Daniel
  6. I head Northwest!

Well I was going to do a bit up there. Any word on the completion of this awesome project?? I would like to do the Bungle Bungles. In Photoreal. But I need to know which Imagery is available for freeware distibution. (Google Earth isn't) Daniel
  7. Wagin in P3Dv4

That is beautiful!!! Lovely screenshots. Daniel
  8. I have been learning some things about scenery creation and before I make any announcements I want to check a few things as things change. Hypertiles is no longer supported apparently, can I still use it, legally, to upload FREE scenery? Or is there another public domain use orthophotos we/I can use? Any scenery I make is for FSX (if someone wants to help me make for P3D I don't have it, and that is another licensing issue). Daniel
  9. Blue Mtn Scenery

I want to do some scenery for Western Australia. I love Orbx, but some of it could use some detail. I will try your Katoomba scenery. What is the legal use for 'satellite photoreal'? I read somewhere you cannot distribute it. Well the Google Earth imagery anyway. Daniel
