  1. G'day Iceman. Have you had a look at Arno's Ground Polygon Wizard which is part of his Model Converter X....

    You can make a plane in Gmax and paste your image onto it then save as an FSX model, import it into the Ground Poly Wizard and export it as a .bgl - A lot easier than the older FS2002 method. The wizard also allows you to prioritise your layers to put skid marks, cracks dirt etc. layers over your basic image.


  2. I know it's been a while since I started this thread and Isisford hasn't materialised but it's not really dead just taking a bit longer to resuscitate. I had a mixture of FS9 and FSX libraries and I've been trying to replace them with FSX versions as well as reworking some bits and learning to do photo-real runways and tarmacs with Arno's MCX Ground Poly Wizard. I've also been working on Thangool which is the airport for the Central Qld mining town of Biloela. I think Thangool is almost 100% complete so I'll zip it up and put it up for some testing. Here's a sample of YTNG so far.....

Having been on the Committee here back in the VOZ days, I am well aware of the feelings that sometimes crop up in these type of forums and have always done my best to not get involved in any arghy bargy. Trev has pretty well summed up the situation at the time. I more or less just dropped out of scenery work due to my computer at the time being not up to the job of running FSX at a reasonable rate plus work commitments and .have now got a better computer and plenty of time on my hands.

  4. Good to hear that you are continuing with Orange. Looks bloody good for a first attempt at a scenery. I have a partly completed Orange scenery from a few years back. The taxiways have changed from the Google Earth imagery I used so it's good to see an updated scenery on it's way. I'll have a rummage around on my old hard drive and see if I have any photos there that may be of use.

  5. I haven't posted on these forums for quite a while. The last scenery I uploaded was Young, NSW some time back. After retiring from work and a bit of a stint in hospital I finally have a computer that runs FSX without stuttering and collapsing and have revived a couple of scenery projects I was working on. The first one that I think is about ready for uploading is Isisford in far Western Queensland.....

    I'm not quite sure what the system for submitting sceneries is now. I'll give Isisford a bit of a workout to see if I can break it and then zip it up and put it up for testing

  6. That's tough news Jay. I hope you're not too long out of work. Fingers crossed for you.

    @ highpriest... Don't you love that word "restructuring". My sister has had to re-apply for a position she has occupied for 8 1/2 years due to a "restructure" . No one has been made redundant but her workplace has been "restructured" so that 7 positions has now become 2 at the same level plus 1 and a half at a lower level.

I'm well on the way to recovery now, lost quite a bit of weight and feel like a 5 year old could knock me over but I've lined up a dietician and will start seeing a Psychologist since I seem to have fallen into depression since retiring from work last year. But things are looking good at the moment and I'll try to churn out a lot more flags, maybe set them up as a seperate library. This will be a bit of theraphy for me.

  8. Glad to see people using my objects. I've only just returned home after a week and a bit in hospital. I had/have diverticulosis plus an abcess on my bowel. Not recommended! but have responded well to heaps of intravenus antibiotics. I am quite willing to add any flags needed to my library. It's quite easy for me to do now that I have all the files set up. Just add the new bitmap and save under a new name.

  10. Works OK on the 2 maps I added it to. Very detailed as an AI vehicle both inside and outside so it could cause lag problems on lower end systems in detailed maps. Not knocking it in any way. It's a great looking model but if your system is, like mine, a bit on the marginal side, I wouldn't add it to the more demanding maps.
