  1. Skype

Pardon my ignorance Jay, but what the hell is "World IPv6" day? An update of IP addresses to increase available addresses maybe? Cheers Tony (edit) Did what I should have done first, Jay. A search. Now I am enlightened!!! http://www.worldipv6day.org/
  2. Skype

I had a bit of a weird Skype hiccup last night too mate! First Skype was running, then stopped running. Restarted Skype a few times but it wouldn't log me in. Finally got in with a message that my "new password" had been applied. First thought was that as I hadn't changed my password maybe someone had hijacked my account. Restarted my modem and computer and Skype started up and I was logged in as normal. I don't know what that was all about???? Cheers Tony

  5. If you haven't already done so, log onto FSDeveloper.... http://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/index.php sign up and trawl through the forums and the Wiki. You'll find plenty of scenery designers (and scenery tool builders) here who seem to have endless patience helping out new scenery developers. This site has just about all the tools and collective knowledge that you will need to aquire as you go along. Happy scenery making. Warning!! Scenery making is an extremely addictive activity!!! Cheers Tony.
  6. Isn't it annoying when...

I've been caught out in the past by this too! Annoying, but I suppose that's progress. I was browsing around in Google Earth a few days ago and found my local Airport (Rockhampton) had been updated on GE. GE imagery was the same from Dec. 2004 up to June 2010 and then updated again Sep. 2010. No change for nearly six years and then an update 3 months later! Cheers Tony
  7. Here's one worth watching. 16 Spitfires at the same place same time. Pretty good quality too. Cheers Tony
  8. One for the Spitfire fans

Here's another one. Worth it just for the sounds. Over 6 minutes of the Merlin sounds.... This guy's having the most fun you can have sitting down!! Cheers Tony
  9. ANZAC Day

    Lest we forget
  10. OZx to re-integrate with Orbx

Sorry that you see it that way Terry. I see it as more of a "going back home" than a sellout. This whole sheebang of VOZ, Orbx and Ozx only came about in the first place through the vision and hard work (not to mention the cold hard cash) of John Venema. I don't see why the re-integration won't work and can only see advantages to all of us. Cheers Tony
  11. Help For a GMAX Newbie!

You could check to make sure you don't have a same name texture anywhere in your FSX scenery folders. Sometimes this will confuse the rendering engine and it will decide to display nothing or freeze up. Cheers Tony
  12. Rough Weather

I know it's not aviation related but I was just browsing around on YouTube and found this. On the water or in the air you have to deal with mother nature at her best and worst... Cheers Tony Just looked up Storm Force 10 on Wikipedia. Storm Force 10 on the Beaufort scale of 1 to 12 (calm waters to Hurricane Force) means wind speeds of 89 to 102 k.p.h. and wave heights of 9 to 12.5 meters. Looking back the worst I have ever been out on water in was probably about Storm Force 6 to 7?? - That was bad enough!!!
  13. Neill's computer

You're a dead set legend Mate!! Everyone should have a mate like you. What a wonderful world it would be!!!! p.s. - Think I might buy something like this myself. It's getting too confusing for an old codger like me to keep up with CPUs, GPUs, Power Packs, etc. etc. - I've been too long without a decent system to get back into doing a bit of scenery work. I've never bought an "off the shelf" system but as you and Ian seem to think this one looks O.K. I'll take a look at at it! Cheers Tony
  14. They must be joking!

Take a look at this.... http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2011/02/05/3130657.htm?section=justin Bad news for peanut and cabbage growers. Cheers Tony
  15. My brother in law works for Qld Rail here in Rocky and emailed me a few photos of some of the rail damage from here West. I've put them up in the gallery if anyone wants to see them. It'll be a while before the coal mines are up and running and sending coal down these tracks!! The cost of this weather episode in dollar terms is impossible to imagine but pales into insignificance against the heartache and tragedy for those who lost family and friends and the many who have seen years of hard work and money poured into a house that has been washed away or turned into something that looks more like the town tip on a rainy day. But we have to keep going and carry on. Cheers Tony
