  1. Normanton and Chillagoe textures

Thanks for the replies. I do have Holgermesh installed and FTX Australia and also have FTX Central 3 and FTX Australia checked in the FTX Global Vector Config Tool. I will try looking in the OZx folder for redundant files and see if I can find any.
  2. Just giving this a bump...It would be interesting to know if AndrewW was successful with this proposed app.
  3. I have been doing some sightseeing flights to Normanton (YNTN) and Chillagoe (YCGO) and have noticed that the textures for the runway and apron change or disappear depending on the which direction you are looking. The screens are of Normanton parking area and the textures will will change with a slight change of viewing angle. I'm using P3Dv3.4 and have tried reinstalling the OZx Libraries and ensuring they are in the correct position in the scenery library, and running FTX Global AEC as well but the results remain the same. I love these outback airports and would be great to sort this problem out.
  4. Does anyone know of any Australian repaints of the Milviz C310? Been searching for hours and there doesn't appear to be a single one anywhere. It seems amazing that some talented painter out there has not whacked a VH rego on this rendition of such an iconic light twin.
  5. Haha...it's not 20/10 vision...it's 20/20 hindsight! I had to spend a day doing an engine change on a C404 right out front of Steve's hangar on the tarmac in scorching heat because everyone had full hangars and I couldn't rent any space to do it under cover!
  6. Just wondering the same thing. I just added the previous fixes to YBTL and so far it seems ok and I have the missing buildings back with the exception of the Steven Hegarty Aircraft Maintenance hangar. From memory, I think it should be right next to this BAE hangar.
  7. I've always wished someone would come up with an addon that could use real time radio broadcast internet streaming and make it selectable in the sim using the ADF. There is a small app (payware after 30 days trial) called FSChatter Live that uses the Com radio to tune into LiveATC.net which I imagine would use similar linkages to being able to select radio station internet streaming via the simulator avionics. It would definitely add to the immersion of those simmers that prefer navigation like it was done in the pre GPS days. In Australia, there are not a lot of VOR or ADF stations away from the coast so tracking via the local radio stations to those remote western towns that actually had a local radio station was the only "Navaid" available. So yes...definitely much interest from this simmer regarding this project!
  8. Saitek X52 Flight Control System

Use the calibration page within the flight sim. Quite often the sensitivity is set half way by default which give you only half the available travel of your controller. Make sure your throttle is set full right and remove or reduce the Null Zone by shifting it all the way left.
  9. Twin Otter Extended

I have the Twin Otter Extended working in Prepar3D v3.4 without any problems. I'm still using Windows 7 Professional but I can't see you having a problem with Win10 if your sim is running normally. My main interest in this hobby is the challenge of bush flying in Papua New Guinea, Alaska and Canada and the Aerosoft Twin Otter Extended is probably my favourite aircraft to use. The actual addon package is excellent with the modelling of aircraft and systems detailed enough to keep it interesting and challenging. If you go ahead and get this aircraft, I would recommend using FSUIPC to set the power levers with the correct flight idle and beta range to get the most out operating this machine. Here are some screenshots of the Twin Otter in PNG using P3Dv3.4
  10. Co-pilots

How about in front of you...careful what you wish for! When Heidi keeps you company in the A2A Cub, she can be as obnoxious and sarcastic as any bitchin' wife. She often reminds you that you don't need to lean that close over her shoulder to see whats in front and that you obviously got your pilots licence out of the Corn Flakes packet!
  11. Dodo

Does the Milviz 407 have engine starting issues like the MD530? I have tried everything to get a realistic start with the 530 but it never seems consistent and have basically given up on using it. It seems incredible that so many Milviz customers have complained about this problem in various forums and after all this time, this engine starting issue has not been adequately resolved. I would have liked to try the 407 but have been reluctant to purchase another Milviz product until they fix the 530. I also have the Cera 212 and UH-60 which are fun for a while but I always end up back with the Dodo 206. Even though it is an old product, everything just "feels" right with it even in the latest version of P3D. I have not reinstalled the Dodo since I originally installed it in FSX, but just copied and pasted the Dodo folders into the SimObjects\Rotorcraft folder in P3Dv2.4 and now into P3Dv3.4 without any issues.

  13. Just checking to see if Mike's Horn Island (YHID) update was available and the page gives a "404" error. I'm hoping this is because the new version is about to be posted! I was so happy when OZx released the Torres Straits and then was over the moon to find Mike's Horn Island release. I spent a fair amount of time in this area as a child and later as an adult. Back in the early 70's, I used to travel from Weipa to Horn for a weekend whenever I had the opportunity. It used to cost $14 return which meant I only had to mow 7 peoples lawns to get the ticket! Another quick but hard way to earn the $14 airfare was a good fight in the boxing tent when the annual show was on. The better the fight, the more coins the spectators would throw on the canvas then after, you split the proceeds with your opponent. The attached screenshot brings back so many good memories. The Fokker was in this colour scheme when I first flew this trip and I have actually flown on the aircraft with this rego.
  14. Alabeo's titan 404?

I also have the Alabao 207 and 404 and have had no luck in finding any repaints for either. After watching "Flying Wild Alaska" it seems like the C207 is a very popular bush plane in that area. I worked for many years for a company here in N.Q that operated a fleet of 404's and had wondered why some software developer hadn't released a rendition of this great GA twin. I was happy when Alabao released their version and felt that if it had been modeled with more in depth engine management, it would have been a great stepping stone to more complex turbine aircraft, which was the case in the real world.
  15. Torres Strait missing runway textures

G'day Jorge, I finally got my missing runway textures back after downloading the Torres Straits pack again and re installing. I have nearly got all of my flight sim issues sorted out now.....just need some runway lights in Cairns (FTX YBCS) and all will be good. Kev.
