can you post a picture of the textures in the sim you are referring to and can you post a screen of your graphics settings some textures not matter what you do wont improve if you zoom in, the lower the res of the texture size will always haunt you as many early aircraft started with 512x512 or 1024x1024 resolutions as the default aircraft in FSX, sadly they are low res textures, you may be luck to find some paints here the painters increased the pixel count to provide better detail its only been recent years we have started seeing textures of 2048x2048 or 4096x4096 wich give you very crisp texturing afar or close up, however they come at at cost of virtual memory VAS and cause out of memory errors in most 32bit based sims.(non p3d v4) regardless if you have win 64bit but im sure we will be able to find you a happy medium where we can sharpen your textures without memory errors or loss smooth frames
  3. Hi Jeansy

  4. Hi Jeansy

we only get Melbourne and Brisbane news here, we no longer have a local team as channel nine pulled out of NT and moved to Bris the so called local news half after the Brisbane national has about 5mins of Darwin stuff and then just repeats the bris national stuff the tress are a hot topic of conversation at the moment as there are so many down as they are the wrong type to be planted in shallow soil with a rock base im really cant disclose where this image was taken, this was taken post clean up to clear road ways, from but if you can make out, there are about 75% of trees down and you can see the shallow root base behind my car
  5. Hi Jeansy

cheers, all good here on my end considering im next to the ocean, lve lived in the tropics for 20plus yrs so im familiar with them and know how to prep, we had minor damage and lost a few trees, however for a cat 2 the city and suburbs copped a pounding i have seen so may trees down and damage for such a small scale cyclone, I clocked wind speeds of 148 in the street about an hr in, they saying it Darwins worst cyclone since Tracy in 74 however we are now expecting another one, and at least a cat 4 (Yassi & Tracy in size) next weekend but thank you for the thoughts, depending on how the new low goes next week, and if its does rear its head, we will need those thoughts again but on a nice note, the down wasnt full of media whores trying to get ratings, like you see in queensland cyclones, funny enough it barely got a mention in the national news mind you those bushfires are nasty The biggest gripes we had and have up here , the bottle shops were shut on sat, and we missed out on st pats day and the only working traffic lights until after lunch today were the one with speed cameras theres some good footage of full size trees tumbleweeding down the suburban streets our clean up is done at our house however the town is no where near ready or will be for the next one come fri//sat
  6. The shiping is untested in v4 I want redo it down the track and change some models to reflect current day and tie in with my oil rigs and darwin ports scenery The bgl should work and the ships should work as well, the well known wake issue may be a problem but the avsim wake fix should solve that But i could be talking out of butt The adf ai wont too well as they are fs2004 models so you will be missing a fair few aircraft If you do install it let me.know how you go with the ships The more i think about it I have a funny feeling that some ships are fs2004 models and they may not work
  7. idea for friday 16march flight

Thanks for asking and on all of days it was st pats day so no darwin festival We did alright surprisingly since im less than 1km from the beach we lost a few trees and so did most houses in my suburb but we are a suburb thats only 2yrs old so a lot of planning went into cyclone proofing desgin (expect landscaping) The city lost power and is expected to get it back late in the week some other older areas suffered a bit which sucks as you need the air con and running water Im stumpt how much the place was affected by only a cat 2 cyclone its like they have forgotten or ignored past experiences Anyway theres warnings of a cat 4 cyclone later this week so if that happens it will be a long week At this rate i will only have to worry about lawns as i wont have any trees left at this rate I was planning on doing a live flight when it hit but inwas side tracked as i was playing in the street helping some neigbours who didnt do any preps and then entertain the wife and kid as ot was thier first cyclone
