The Jabiru has evolved from combining the best features of the SK & UL models. It comes with the standard SK wings but the with the longer UL fuselage. The longer tail boom results in more elevator and empennage authority, reducing the stall speed to 39 kts and increasing directional stability. The SP was developed for export markets such as Canada, South Africa and Chile where a 39 knot stall speed was required for ultralight or microlight operations. The aircraft are already flying in South Africa, Swaziland, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Chile. Gmax model by William Ortis www.lionheartcreations.com who granted us access very kindly to host this on OZx
The Jabiru SP cruises at 105 knots on 15 litres/hour, depending on the options selected.
Jabiru have increased the Maximum Take Off Weight (MTOW) for all their kitplane models from 450kg to 470kg using the 4cyl engine & 500kg using the 6cyl engine. All of the Jabiru kitplane models have been structurally tested to 8.5g.
All new UL & SP kitplanes delivered, will incorporate a new 65 litre low profile fuel tank which will increase the available storage space for baggage on top of the fuel tank & have a 85litre tank or wing tanks as an option.
