Maple Leaf: Electrified!

Includes a full set of high quality AUDIO ANNOUNCEMENTS for all bus stops! ..... all included in the installation.......!

Includes Electric D92 and Electric NL202 buses (fully electric, not hybrids!), and custom repaints. [You must have the Standard NL202 addon bus pre-installed].

Welcome to the fictional city of Winston, set in the real Canadian province of Manitoba, near the vast Hudson Bay. This map features the Maple Leaf District of the City of Winston, which is the streets and areas than run along and nearby Maple Leaf Boulevard.

The Maple Leaf District has been outfitted with a Ground Power System and now supports the first fully electric buses in the City of Winston. Buses are fitted with capilliary brush systems that lower to the ground once close to the ground power lines that run along some of the cities streets. Not all streets are outfitted with the ground power lines, as the buses also carry powerful LiON batteries which provide them a range of 40km, when off the ground power lines.

The ground power lines use the very latest technology; they are made of an advanced compound. They are completely safe for pedestrians to walk on, (and just feel like hard rubber to walk over), because electricity in not supplied to the lines all of the time; power is only fed to one small section of the line, at a time, as the bus passes over it. The buses used on the system are bought from Germany as used stock. The combustion engines are stripped out and the buses are refurbished with LiON batteries and electric drivetrain motors. They are SD202 D92 and NL202 stock.

IMPORTANT - It is very important that you read all of the following;

You need the Canadian (CDN) Ticket Pack installed, before using this map. If you have the Willshire map (by Lockheart), you will have this, but if you don't have that map, you'll need to download the standalone Canadian TicketPack, by Lockheart, from the Download Centre:- http://aussiex.org/f...canadian-money/

Before installing this map, you should ensure you have the NL202 addon bus installed on your OMSI system. (You do not need any specific liveries, as this Zip package supplies them).

This Zip package will then install the map, along with an electric version of the D92 and an electric version of the NL202.

One custom livery for the D92 and two custom liveries for the NL202 will also be installed with this Zip package.

You should select either of the above electric buses for use on this map. (Normal diesel buses will also work fine, if you wish to use those).

After installation of this addon, the electric D92 will be listed in your bus list as;-

Bus Manufacturer: MAN

Bus Type: SD202 D92 D3E - Electric

....similarly, the electric NL202 will be listed as;-

Bus Manufacturer: MAN

Bus Type: NL202 - ELECTRIC

When selecting a bus on this map, you should choose one of the available custom 'electric bus' repaints, which you will see in the drop down list.

To operate either of the electric buses, simple press 'E' as normal to turn on the services battery, then press 'M' as normal to switch on the electric motor and LiON batteries. The electric motor can be loud at first as it performs a regenerative action. Select 'D' as normal, release your park break and slowly pull off. The electric D92 is considerably more powerful than the electric NL202 (it has 4 LiON batteries to the NL202's 3 batteries, and a more powerful electric motor), so pull off gently. The electric D92 uses a CVT (continuously variable transmission) gearbox, whereas the electric NL202 uses a conventional gearbox mated to the electric motor.

VERY, VERY IMPORTANT: Before installing this package;

- You MUST delete your existing "Maple Leaf" folder from OMSI / MAPS if you have the old version installed. This is vital.

- You MUST delete the Maple Leaf.HOF file from ALL of your vehicles, before installing this package. This is because this package uses the same HOF title, but the two are not compatible. (everything is different including route numbers).

TO SUMMARIZE, IF YOU HAVE THE OLD VERSION OF "MAPLE LEAF BOULEVARD" INSTALLED, YOU MUST DELETE THE MAP, AND HOF FILES, BEFORE INSTALLING THIS VERSION.

IBIS Codes & Route Map

IBIS Codes and a Route Map are available by clicking on this link (it's the same link as shown earlier):-

http://aussiex.org/o...e_Leaf_Elec.pdf

Please turn on the Route Markers until you have learned the routes.

IMPORTANT - Terminating at Finance District & Royal Hospital;

The above two termini use standard road intersections to effect the turnaround. (The turnaround is performed by turning left and making a 180 degree manouvre) If you try to turn left at these junctions while in the left-most lane (which is what you'd normally do) your bus will be too wide to make the full required 180 degree turn. Therefore you need to;

i) Pull away from the drop-off bus stop and remain in the right-most lane
ii) Give way to traffic in the two lanes on your left,
iii) When it is safe to do so, make a full left 180 degree turn and pull into the pick-up bus stop.

This map features the following routes in this version (many more routes are to come):-

Key: MLB = Maple Leaf Boulevard

M1 East Side Metro - MLB - West Bay Junction / West Bay Resort (alternating)

M2 Finance District - MLB - St Johns St - Royal Hospital

242 Finance District - MLB - Cacharel Drive - Garden Park

411 Goose Bay - North Road Villages - West Bay Junction / Garden Park (alternating)

NOTE: Some M1 journeys become Line 411 upon reaching West Bay Junction.
Some 411 journeys become Line M1 upon reaching West Bay Junction.

KNOWN ISSUES (V1.0):

1. The HOF file for M2 Route 01 (Finance District <> Royal Hospital) is missing the bus stop "Novo Castria Centre". No issue with the return journey, just the outward to Royal Hospital. Will be corrected in v1.1

2. Occasional AI buses on Line M2 will fail to observe red light signals on Miller Ave. We are trying to trace the offending driver, and will take disciplinary action when we find him lol !!

=========================================================================

Thank you to Flippy for the timetables & custom AI List and one of the repaints. Thank you to Lockheart for some tasty custom objects used. Thank you to everyone else that helped with the project. It is ongoing and currently only 10% of the City of Winston is featured!
