  1. Road-hog123's British Road Detailing Pack

Dropbox Mirror (will always link to latest version)

This is a pack of British roads, markings, signs and clutter made by me, @Road-hog123.
All signs and road markings contained within this pack are made to conform as closely as possible to the DfT standards.
[New in 2.1:] All road marking splines include usage guidelines at the top of the file to advise on how to use them.

    Notes:
This pack has been made for Omsi 2 and WILL NOT WORK with Omsi 1 (it uses splines with transparency, a feature implemented in Omsi 2). This pack is NOT COMPATIBLE with any previous versions of my pack. It is standalone and WILL NOT WORK as a replacement to version 1.5.3 of the pack for all Omsi 1 maps and maps released before 16th February 2015. I cannot be held personally responsible if the installation of this pack directly or indirectly results in the breaking of your Omsi installation, installed map(s) or loss of data.
    Installation:
Replace any uses of files that are to be removed in this version with those that will be kept (see changelog). Locate your Omsi 2 installation directory (by default "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\OMSI 2\" on 64-bit Windows systems or "C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\OMSI 2\" on 32-bit Windows). If a previous version of my pack is installed (i.e. the directory structure in this download already exists in the install location), remove it before installing this version. Note that in doing so you get a "proper" clean install of this pack with no extra files, but as such you may break maps that utilise files that have been deprecated and removed. (See Redistribution if you're a map maker and want to avoid this). Copy the contents of the "OMSI 2" folder included in this ZIP archive into the "OMSI 2" folder you identified as your Omsi 2 installation directory. If you have to overwrite files other than the previous version's fonts, you have either not removed a previous copy or are installing the pack into the wrong location.
      Redistribution:
Unchanged with a freeware or payware map:
    EITHER:
(recommended) Link to the download page and keep your map up-to-date with new releases of this pack. This means that your map can benefit from optimisations and improvements in future releases. OR:
If you are unlikely to update the map in the future, are worried about users failing to download the file or are selling the map on Steam or similar (and need to package everything together), you may include this content inside your map download. If you do, the pack should be included in a subdirectory (e.g. "\Sceneryobjects\YourMap\Road-hog123\"). This keeps your map's copy safe from being overwritten by updates and ensures your map won't overwrite a user's updated version with an older one. Modified with a freeware or payware map:
You MUST include your modified content in a separate subdirectory of Sceneryobjects and/or Splines (e.g. "\Sceneryobjects\YourMap\Road-hog123\") such that your modifications do not overwrite my files and/or affect other maps. Unchanged independent of a map:
Link to the download page. The download page is mirrored on aussiex.org and forums.fellowsfilm.co.uk and a further two direct download links are provided from Dropbox and GitHub if the download hosting is down, so there's no need to upload the file anywhere else. Uploading this pack elsewhere also prevents that download link serving the most up-to-date version automatically. Modified independent of a map:
You MUST include your modified content in a separate subdirectory of Sceneryobjects and/or Splines (e.g. "\Sceneryobjects\YourName\Road-hog123\") such that your modifications do not overwrite my files and/or affect other maps. You should make it clear that you've merely edited my content and did not originally create the content. You can sell your modifications if you want, but my pack is free, so they'd better be good modifications for people to want to buy them. Unchanged independent of a map as payware:
This pack is released by me for free. I'm not going to stop you, but who's going to buy something that they can download for free? Claiming my content as your own:
If you claim this pack that I made myself as something you made, you're not a nice person and you should feel bad. Shame on you. If you also include this file unchanged, which lists "Road-hog123" as the creator of this pack and not you, you're also an idiot. If linking to the original download along with your map, ensure that you are linking to the correct download page, and not the 1.5.3 page (the two versions are not compatible).

    Known Bugs:
Some signs may not have attachment points to attach signs beneath them. Poles aren't casting shadows. Still no idea what's causing this. It affects the pedestrian guard railings too... Most people don't play with shadows enabled, so not much of a problem. [SEVERE] Entering too long text into the right-aligned distance field on signs may cause them to disappear and tile to not load.
    Disclaimer:
I accept no responsibility for loss or damage of data or property as a result of the usage of my signs on maps. In order to prevent data loss or damage, make sure to keep plenty of backups so that if my objects do cause an error, you can roll back to fix it. If you do find a bug with any of the contents of this pack, please let me know so that I may be able to fix that bug.
    Enjoy!

  4. Whistlehead objects and splines v0.1

Hi all, this is a quick and dirty release of my objects ans splines I've made for Farthington so far. Not all of them have been used in Farthington yet, so there may be some things you haven't seen in there!
I've included a quick license in the "Documents" folder. Basically, you can include this with your maps, but don't upload it separately, modify the contents or claim credit.
It's very messy and not really release prepared, but I've had a few people interested in these assets so I thought I'd bundle them up as they stand and let them out. I may well re-do this package in the future, but I'll leave this version available as a "legacy pack" so to speak.
Includes everything you see in the picture, and a few more (including the whole whstlehead fencing pack). The church really isn't fit for close viewing (poor quality textures and a strange pink block outside - I thought I'd fixed that but evidently not).
    Enjoy!

  6. Rising Bus Bollards

A simple mod - approach the bollard, it descends into the tarmac. Drive over it, and it rises again behind you.
    Setup instructions included in download.
NOTE: Scenery is not included - the download contains the bollard itself only - the metallic disc, pavements, road surface markings, traffic lights, etc, were added in by me for the screenshot to illustrate suggested setup.

  7. whistlehead roadways

    Hi all,

This is a pack of left-path roadway splines, representing British roads, which I have made/am making for my map, Farthington. It is by no means complete, but it is in a basically usable state. It includes roads with five surface textures and a set of road markings to match. I'm hoping to update this pack frequently in the future, but I'll try to make sure that there are no compatibility issues between versions.

The roads are designated using a number/lettering system, working from left to right. Each type of road marking has been designated a letter (A is a completely plain white line, for instance), and traffic paths are given a number, 0 or 1, depending on their direction. To give you an idea of what this means, the default road is designated 7.5m_A0D1A. This means:

7.5m: The width of the road, 7.5 metres (actually 8.3m, see below)
    A: Line type A
    0: Traffic path going forwards
    D: Line type D
    1: Traffic going backwards
    A: Line type A

Note that the roads marked as 7.5m wide are actually 8.3m wide. They were indended to match the Simplestreets 7.5m roads, which are also 8.3m wide. Don't ask me!

Download the most recent version - downloads are standalone, no previous versions required.

To install: Unzip the file into your OMSI 2 folder.

There will probably be some issues which I have not yet fixed - some of the snow textures may not line up, for example - but I'm not intending to make any major changes, so anything you make with these in should still work with future updates. However, also take note that there will be some changes - road markings may be altered, for instance - so you may need to make some tweaks when the pack updates.

There are no junction objects included in this pack yet. However, if you study roads in real life, you will notice that there are sudden road surface transitions absolutely everywhere, especially at junctions - so it's not unreasonable to switch back to default road textures when you reach a junction.

    Have fun!

    Regards,
    Chris

  9. iomex UK tarmac roads (Left Path)

This pack is a reskin and modification of the default M-R splines and crossings, as well as those of Simplesteets. The modification switches over the paths so that AI drives on the left side of the road.
Due to the nature of swapping over the side of the road AI drives on, some junctions have had to be re-worked in order to function. As such, users who are using this pack to 'flip' their maps should examine their routes carefully, as junctions will need to be redesigned. In addition, not EVERY asset is available - the OMSI 2 assets have not been included as they are not readable by the SDK which hasn't been updated since OMSI 1. In addition, I have not altered any redundant or pointless crossings. However, most of them are included in this package.
Textures provided will blank out any road surface markings, replacing the asphalt textures with a plain tarmac. You will have to draw on your own surface markings - I recommend RoadHog123's pack available here. Filenames have been preserved, so using a tool such as Notepad++, you can open all your map files and replace Sceneryobjects/Kreuz_MC (as an example), with Sceneryobjects/iomexLH. Remember that not every asset has been included, so run maptools.exe to check for missing assets.
In addition, I have included a pelican crossing - which works the same as the existing ped crossings, except this one has a flashing amber phase on the lights, which only halt traffic when a pedestrian wishes to cross the road.
I intend to expand and improve upon this mod in subsequent updates, so if you spot any issues, please let me know. This, and other information is available in readme.txt.
    HOTFIX FILES:
Please download these patches files - these will be incorporated into a future update.

  15. whistlehead's fencing splines

Hi all, this is my first asset upload to the forum.

    This pack currently consists of:

    -A green wooden fence
-A roadside metal fence (in various colours)
    -A spiked metal industrial fence

I'll probably be updating this frequently in the near future but I don't expect any compatibility issues between versions.

Note: These fences make extensive use of transparent textures, so are not compatible with OMSI 1.

    Enjoy!

  16. Road-hog's British-Style Road Items

For Omsi 1 and maps released before 16/02/2015. For the latest version, click here:
This is a pack of British-Style Road Objects for your maps.
    The current (1.5.3) release contains:
    - 14 Road Marking Objects
    - 40 Road Marking Splines
    - 4 Motorway Splines
    - 4 Curb (Kerb) Splines
    - 49 Temporary Road Signs.

    A full read-me and change-log are included.

This version has been tested and works fine on Omsi 2. It *should* (I hope) be entirely compatible with maps using v1.5.

    Patch 1.5.3!
This adds snow textures/changes to the road-marking splines and objects, and reinstates the "Loading Only" object seen in the image below, that somehow disappeared from the main release... You need the full 1.5.2 version installed in order to use this patch.

    Enjoy!
