  4. This folder contains a repaint for the Aerosoft PBY Catalina for FSX, representing Y-45 of the Royal Dutch Naval Air Force (MLD). On 21 february 1942, Y-45 rescued 27 people from a life boat of the SS "Sloet van Beele". The rescued sailors told that was another life boat containing 80 people, so after dropping off its first load, the Y-45, flown by Mans Dorre, took off again. After searching for hours, the life boat was found, containing 79 sailors. All were stowed on board the PBY, and returned to safety, although some of them later died of exhaustion. In all, 230 people were saved that day, from the "sloet van Beele" and the destryer "van Nes". The Y-45 later escaped to Australia, where it served for most of the war, after which it was scrapped. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the repaint kit by Aerosoft.

  6. What if the Germans captured a Spitfire Mk I and added it to the "Zirkus Rosarius"?

This fictional repaint is what it's all about. While the Germans DID captured a Mk I, It was not painted that way. I used the "Zirkus Rosarius" Mk IX as a reference.

    I hope you enjoy!

  11. This folder contains a repaint for the A2A/Aircraft Factory F4-U Corsair, in the colors of the aircraft of Robert Hampton "Hammy" Gray VC, DSC. Lt Grey was a Canadian naval officer, pilot, and recipient of the Victoria Cross (VC) during World War II, one of only two members of the Royal Navy's Fleet Air Arm to have been thus decorated in that war. The citation for his VC read: "The KING has been graciously pleased to approve the award of the VICTORIA CROSS for valour to: — the late Temporary Lieutenant Robert Hampton GRAY, R.C.N.V.R.,for great valour in leading an attack on a Japanese destroyer in Onagawa Wan, on 9th August, 1945. In the face of fire from shore batteries and a heavy concentration of fire from some five warships Lieutenant Gray pressed home his attack, flying very low in order to ensure success, and, although he was hit and his aircraft was in flames, he obtained at least one direct hit, sinking the destroyer. Lieutenant Gray has consistently shown a brilliant fighting spirit and most inspiring leadership."
Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the A2A paintkit.

It was later bought from the US and remained in Swedish service until 19 november 1952, flying with F16 squadron, where it was used as a 'hack' aircraft.
