    Greetings,

    This is my first completed scenery add on for the ORBX/FTX package "NA Blue" Pacific Northwest. It's a fictitious destination just a few miles North of 3WS (Concrete Municipal) in Washington State. The Chalet de Venema has a hard packed mud surface STOL port alongside the Baker river with parking for aviators that visit. It also includes a pair of helipads. There are also several spaces for float planes to tie off to along the lake shore.

    This scenery is in honor of ORBX FTX founder, John Venema.

    Hope you enjoy this.

    Sandmann Lodge (V 1.0)

    Created by Brad Allen ([email protected])

    Sandmann Lodge is in honor of Holger Sandmann, geographic consultant, ecologist and software developer for ORBX/FTX. This fictitious location fits in with the Pacific Northwest scenery package "FTX NA Blue" by ORBX/FTX. The lodge is geared for aviators and eco-tourists who are looking for a relaxing destination. After they park their aircraft that is. The landing here is challenging because the STOL runway is very short and the surface is hard packed mud. Only aircraft equipped to land and take off from short fields should attempt to land here. There is one helicopter pad clearly marked for any rotorcraft. The floatplane dock is large and has plenty of spaces available for any pontoon pilots.

    These scenery addon's are for use with Microsoft Flight Simulator X. I used the "Acceleration" edition for my work on these.

    The surrounding scenery this is designed to work with and fit in is the incredible ORBX "FTX NA Blue" package for the Pacific Northwest of North America. If you haven't got this scenery installed by ORBX, this file will probably not work for you. I repeat, this is not for default FSX terrain, this is for the above mentioned package from ORBX/FTX.

    NOTE: A few words on the object libraries. I try to only use the default FSX library objects with Flight 1 Instant Scenery to design these addon scenery areas. I will specifically list any library objects needed that are not default if necessary for this scenery to display properly in a separate readme file if anything other than default library objects were used. If you don't see a separate readme file, then it means that this scenery uses default libraries. There might also be several objects that only show up if you have FSX Acceleration which means they won't show up if you don't.

    I set Autogen to one click left from max to "Very Dense" flying around this area did not show any noticable frame rate hit's on my system when testing this scenery out.

    There may be updates to this scenery at a later date. Stay tuned. Also please know that I am not affiliated in any way with ORBX and this scenery is not supported or endorsed by ORBX. If you have any issues using this file, send your support inquiries to my email and I'll try to help you sort them out. PLEASE DO NOT POST ANY PROBLEMS WITH THIS SCENERY ON THE ORBX or OZx FORUMS!!

    Womack Resort at Bull Run Lake (V 1.0)

    I created this scenery area in honor of Bill Womack. He made the 7S3 airport for ORBX and its FTX NA BLUE package. Thanks Bill. I only hope someday I can get as good at this as you are.

    Created and imagined by Brad Allen ([email protected])

    This scenery add-on is for use with Microsoft Flight Simulator X. I used the "Acceleration" edition for my work on these.

    The surrounding scenery this is designed to work with is the incredible ORBX "FTX NA Blue" package for the Pacific Northwest of North America. If you haven't got the scenery installed by ORBX, this file will probably not work for you. I repeat this is not for default FSX terrain; this is for the above mentioned package from ORBX. There are several objects in this scenery that will only show up if you have FSX Acceleration. But the main objects are default FSX compliant.

    Also, there is an issue with autogen scenery disappearing around the objects in the scenery. I will work on an update at a later time that will address this issue. Until then, no other anomalies were present and you should be able to fly to this destination without any problems other than the missing trees.

    Please see the readme file included in the zip file for installation instructions.

    Thank you Jay Kae for hosting this file on OZx.

    Beauty and charm alongside the mysterious unknown.

    Built in 1916, Lake Crescent Lodge is a fantastic place to stay and call home while you visit Olympic National Park. The surrounding landscape is breathtaking. The lake's clear fresh water reflects the mountains lining the shore like a mirror on calm days.

    ===

    This package is NOT an exact replica of Lake Crescent Lodge. It's as close as I could get using generic FSX Object libraries with the one exception object library described above by Ron Jeffers. I also included some nearby houses along the lakeshore. A camp site around the corner and sailboats on the lake.

    I Hope you enjoy this destination.

    Notes about this scenery.

    Just west of Mount Rainier and nestled in a small cove of Alder Lake is Jay Kaes Last Resort. This scenery is in honor of Jay Kae. For all the hard work that goes into keeping up OZx, ORBX and everything else it takes. When Jay's not around, the property is rented out to people that seek privacy and quiet time near Mt. Rainier. Many VIP's and celebrity guests stop in to the last resort for that secluded place to get away from it all.

    Three private cabins are available near the lake shore. A long fishing pier greets anglers. Fly fishing along the shore is excellent. Alder Lake has trout, salmon, bass, crappie and pan fish.
    A private boat dock and small seaplane pier are available. Guests who arrive by air are welcome to fly into the small dirt airstrip or pull up to the seaplane dock on Alder lake. There is plenty of parking for short field aircraft. A private bus will take you to the mansion. Local food selections are available in the restaurant.

    I hope you enjoy this destination.

If you haven't got this scenery installed by ORBX, this file will probably not work for you. I repeat, this is not for default FSX terrain, this is for the above mentioned package from ORBX/FTX.

    This is a fictional scenery area. I've added several cabins on the small lakes nearby. There are fishing piers and canoes for campers. The Ranger station is used for Mount Jefferson Park Ranger operations. The outpost serves as a NOAA atmospheric test and data site. There is also a unit of the Cascades Fire Rescue squad based at the outpost. This team has a pair of Blackhawk helicopters used for rescue operations and if you fly up Mount Jefferson, there is a practice helicopter rescue taking place. Go find it!!

    The airstrip is for STOL only. There are signs at the end of the airstrip to help guide pilots. There is an ultralight and glider operator who'll be glad to rent you either aircraft. Flying up here is spectacular. Glider pilots sometimes report that the updrafts on the North face of Mount Jefferson are challenging.

    There is also a historic airplane museum with several restored and airworthy WWII aircraft on display. There's a Douglas DC-3, Hawker "Sea Fury" and three North American AT6 "Texan" trainer aircraft in several vintage military liveries. Also look for the hangar and check out the salvage and repair operations inside.

    I've also placed several other "Eye Candy" objects in various places that "Bob" might have to walk around and see. The pretty lady needs to go badly but the potty's all filled up!! Shinjo Nakumura is talking to Vinny on his cell phone. Where's Vinny?? He's on the property somewhere. Can you find him?

    Hope you enjoy this destination.

If there are any FSX "Acceleration" objects used, you won't see them unless you have that version of FSX installed.

    Notes about this scenery.

    Heceta Head Lighthouse is located on a breathtaking bluff 150 feet above the sea. It is one of the most visited lighthouses in the United States drawing thousands of visitors each year to sense its history, feel its romantic aura, and enjoy its spectacular view. In 1775, Don Bruno Heceta, sailing for the Royal Spanish Navy, set out from San Blas, Mexico with 45 men and provisions for a year-long mission to reach the Arctic Circle and claim points en route for Spain. He made it as far as the Columbia River, before turning back due to concern for his sailors who were stricken with scurvy. On his journey he noted the headland, which now bears his name.

    The tower is 56 feet tall with a focal plane of 205 feet above sea level. The most powerful light along the Oregon coast, the light can be seen 21 miles out to sea and is only stopped by the curvature of the earth. The light shown for the first time on March 30, 1894, lit by Andrew Hald, the first headkeeper. It has only failed on one occasion. On February 12, 1961 a rock slide caused by heavy rains snapped the electric wires leading to the station. When the generator failed, Keeper Oswald Allik and two coast guard assistants employed an Aladdin lamp and turned the lens by hand, by walking around the interior of the lamp room. They kept their vigil from midnight until 7:30 the next morning.

    Though the lighthouse tower is not haunted, stories have abounded for years of weird unexplained occurrences at Heceta House. It has been called one of the ten most haunted houses in the United States. Nearly all the residents since the 1950s have reported unusual incidents. But don't be spooked. "Rue" can be quite pleasant, sweeping up glass, exchanging a silk stocking for rat poison. The current keepers say that even today, guests report friendly encounters with Rue. No one seems to mind her at all.

    ===
    Designer Notes.

    This is based on a real world landmark. However there are no Heceta Head Lighthouse custom objects used in this scenery. I used available default objects to give this destination something close to what you would see if you flew near this lighthouse. I did add some other animated objects to give you some atmosphere. Birds, dolphins, orca pod, kayaker, bush pilot and smoke effects.

    You can test your landing skills on the nearby beach. Look for the cabin and tents to mark the ends of the available sand you can put your STOL aircraft down on. No problem in a Super Cub.

    Hope you enjoy this destination.

    Notes about this scenery. (From Wikipedia)

    Timothy Lake is formed by the dam on the Oak Grove branch of the Clackamas River, high in the Oregon Cascade Mountains. It is in close proximity to Clear Lake. The compacted-earth dam was built on Timothy Meadows in 1956 to regulate flow to Lake Harriet and the power plant completed there in 1924. In the summer, the lake is a very popular destination for camping, boating, hiking, horseback riding, and mountain biking.

    ===

    Designer Notes.

    This is based on a real world location. I used available default objects to give this destination something close to what you would see if you flew here. I did my best to recreate the dam area using google earth and default objects. I added the spill way house and gave it some animated spray efx as water is released from the lake to the Clackamas river. I've added other animated objects to give you some atmosphere. Birds and smoke effects. Look for the cabins, campsites and tents along the South shoreline at the various campgrounds. There is a floatplane dock at the far South end of the lake. Hope you enjoy this destination.

    Notes about this scenery. (From Wikipedia)

    Keyhole Falls is the unofficial name for the largest waterfall along the Lillooet River in British Columbia, Canada. The falls are 75 feet (23 m) high and are a punchbowl type of waterfall. It is called Keyhole Falls because it resembles a giant old-fashioned keyhole.

    Formation

    Keyhole Falls was formed when the Lillooet River was dammed with breccia from a Plinian eruption at Mount Meager about 2350 years ago. The thick breccia soon eroded from water activity, forming Keyhole Falls. There was a massive flood when the water first broke through the breccia. The flood was big enough that small house-sized blocks of breccia were carried away during the flood.

    ===

    Designer Notes.

    This scenery enhancement is for a real world location. It's just up the Lillooet River from nearby Pemberton, British Columbia. CYPS is the closest airport. The only things I did was add the waterfall effects and some eye candy nearby.

    Hope you enjoy this destination.

    1. BEFORE YOU INSTALL THE MT. KINCH ICE STATION SCENERY!!! You will first need to download and install the following file to make sure all objects in this scenery are visible in FSX. The file name is: ez_1.zip
    Please be sure to carefully read the installation instructions in the readme.txt file included.

    Notes about this scenery. (From Wikipedia)

    Mount Kinch, named to remember Canadian Army Signalman Oddrey James Kinch, is a volcanic knob in southwestern British Columbia, Canada, located 79 km (49 mi) east of Rivers Inlet. It is almost completely ice-covered.

    ===

    Designer Notes.

    I made this scenery to remember and honor the incredible SIRP (Stikine Icefield Research Project) scenery addon brought to the Tongass Fjords scenery area a few years back. SIRP came to us as freeware and had some of the most challenging conditions any simulator pilot could test their skills in. Blowing snow, low visibility and icy conditions were actually amazing to try and land in. The unique nature of each of the SIRP camps gave me many hours of enjoyment. I spent a whole spring and summer flying from PAPG to the outlying camps and back. I only hope that the true artisans that gave us SIRP can come together again in the FSX world and replicate the SIRP world again. Along with Bill Womack, those experts are credited below as "The Amigos"

    This scenery is an enhancement to an area inside the ORBX/FTX Pacific Northwest region in South West British Columbia. It's NOT a real world location and any similarities are purely coincidental.
    Hope you enjoy this destination.

    DESTINATION NOTES

    There are three islands on the lake: Tivoli, Garden Island and Baby Island.

    Lake Ozette is the 3rd largest lake in Washington. Eight miles from top to bottom and five miles from side to side. It is located within the coastal strip of Olympic National Park.

    The trailheads at Ozette are popular jumping-off spots for coastal hikers. The Cape Alava-Sand Point-Lake Ozette triangle is one of the most popular trails in the state. The triangle is roughly equalateral, three miles a side. The trails that originate at the Ozette ranger station are largely boardwalks, timber sidewalks through the forest and across the prairies. In addition to the two trails mentioned above, there is a third that winds from the lake to the Pacific coast. It is possible to launch a canoe at the ranger station, paddle south into Ericson's Bay, and set up camp under the spreading fir and spruce in a comfortable boat-in only campground. A hundred yards or so to the south of the bay is a trail that cuts across the heavily forested spine of park land that separates the lake from the ocean.

    The lake lies 29 feet above sea level.Streams and rivers flow into the lake from every side. Lake Ozette drains an area of more than 140 square miles. The topography of the basin is steep, with peaks rising 210 to 300 feet not far from the lakeshore and high points in the watershed approaching 600 feet.

    The only access to the lake is via the Hoko-Ozette road to the north shore. Lake Ozette is home to thirteen species of fish including sockeye, kokanee and coho.

    ===============================
    DESIGN NOTES

    This scenery is an enhancement to an area inside the ORBX/FTX Pacific Northwest region. It's based on a real world location and any similarities are purely coincidental. This is the location of the "Lost Resort at Lake Ozette". The placement of the objects is not exactly as in real world but it gives a little place to fly to on this lake. There are cabins, campsites, a dock you can pull up to in a floatplane, kayaks and a ranger station.

    Hope you enjoy this destination.

I will specifically list any library objects needed that are not default if necessary for this scenery to display properly. If you see "IMPORTANT NOTE!!!!!" below, read it for specific object libraries you may need to have installed for this scenery area. If there are any FSX "Acceleration" objects used, you won't see them unless you have that version of FSX installed.

    I set Autogen to one click left from max to "Very Dense"and while flying around this area, that setting did not show any noticable frame rate hit's on my system when testing this scenery out.

    DESIGN NOTES

    I made this scenery destination in honor of Ray Marshall (RayMar) who's been very kind and supportive of my scenery design endeavors here in the PNW.

    This scenery is an enhancement to an area inside the ORBX/FTX Pacific Northwest region. It's not a representation of a real world location and any similarities are purely coincidental.

    Hope you enjoy this destination.

    Diamond Peak Mission (V 1.1)

    Created by Brad Allen ([email protected])

    These mission addon's are for use with Microsoft Flight Simulator X. I used the "Acceleration" edition for my work on these.

    The surrounding scenery this mission is designed to work with and fit in is the incredible ORBX "FTX NA Blue" package for the Pacific Northwest of North America. If you haven't got this scenery installed by ORBX, this file will probably work for you but it's not going to be as I designed it. Also please know that I am not affiliated in any way with ORBX and this mission is not supported or endorsed by ORBX. If you have any issues using this file, send your support inquiries to my email and I'll try to help you sort them out.

    PLEASE DO NOT POST ANY PROBLEMS WITH THIS MISSION ON THE ORBX or OZx FORUMS!!

    ===============================

    MISSION NOTES:

    This is a scenic flight or as FSX calls it, a mission. It's in the ORBX/FTX Pacific Northwest region of South Oregon. These ongoing missions in this series are in the Cascades Volcanic area and you will be flying in higher terrain areas.

    Use the "U" key on your keyboard to cycle the mission compass on/off. You will NOT have a large green rotating arrow pointer floating in the air ahead of you like some missions have. I disabled that during the design process. You will have a flight plan available on your GPS in the aircraft. You can use that as a back up to the mission compass that will appear at various times throughout the mission to help you navigate through the flight. You should be able to fly this mission using any SLOW moving aircraft you have in your hangar. Just make sure the "Enable Changes" tick box in the FSX main missions screen is selected. There are no rewards to lose for this mission. I used a Cessna 206 for my flight. If you use a faster aircraft like a Mooney, Baron or King Air, you'll probably not hit the way points as designed, voice prompts will be off, etc.

    Also, for some reason, I'm not able to get a "Mission Completed" message when I land at any grass airstrip. I just land, park, then shut the engine off. Hit the ESC key and then end the mission. I'm not that far into mission design yet to know why this is happening unless it has something to do with it being a uneven grass airstrip and the mission parameters won't recognize that as a valid landing site. No worries. My intentions aren't to reward the pilot with a medal or something like that, just engage the pilot with some information on the area they are flying my mission in. Some landmarks in the mission have information included about them that you may or may not find interesting. I hope it does interest you though and that you enjoy the scenery on this mission with a little more knowledge about it.

    Please send any feedback to my email. I hope you enjoy this mission.

    Hi.

    This package contains one complete sky and a number of alternate daytimes to be used with FSX (DX9).

    Its a work in progress that I may never get any further on. time will tell.

    If you like flying around the tops of scattered billowing cumulus on a beautiful day then
    try these skies. Some of them look quite similar but they are all different. I tried to make
    skies that looked good not just in good weather but also in bad, and I think I succeeded in most cases.

    This package is intended for those who know how to back up and install their own textures.

    happy flying!

    Owikeno Lake (V 1.1) Changes the North and South .bgl file names so they are no longer both named as "south".

    Created by Brad Allen ([email protected])

    IMPORTANT!!
    There are TWO scenery packages included in this zipfile. Owikeno Lake North and Owikeno Lake South. Install each of these scenery areas as separate addons into your Addon Scenery folder in FSX.

However, I don't think they'll mind if you want to post screen shots there of my area.

    Notes about this scenery. (From Wikipedia)

    Owikeno Lake, (pron. "o we KEE no"), is a large fjord lake in the Central Coast region of British Columbia, Canada. It connects to the head of Rivers Inlet by the short Wannock River. The lake's name comes from the indigenous people of the region, the Wuikinuxv, whose settlements and territory lie around the lake.

    Designer Notes.

    This scenery is a real world location that has fictitious objects added. The runway surfaces appear in the ORBX/FTX PNW region but I added objects to "liven" up the destinations for pilots to visit. At Owikeno Lake North, you'll find a farm on the edge of the lake with a floatplane dock. The gravel runway surface at Owikeno Lake North is maintained by local indigenous people to support tourism. People interested in Fishing, hiking, camping, hunting, scientific research can all benefit by use of this airstrip.

    At Owikeno Lake South, you'll find logging operations and runway surface maintenance taking place.

    Hope you enjoy this destination.

    These are two complete skies for FSX DX9 only. Im using Acceleration.
    These are both new and IMO better than my first complete sky. the daytimes are also brighter.

    You need to know how to backup and install your own textures to use these.

    DISCLAIMER: I am not responsible or liable for the use and/or misuse of these textures. They are provided at no charge and may be shared only as complete sets and provided you give me credit.

    Ive been working on these off and on for a while now. I think Im finally finished. If youve seen any of my screenshots over the past few months, then youve been looking at these skies.

    Please note that I designed these without any lighting mods. Please disable any mods you use until you see what these look like.

    I prefer VFR flying but I think these look fine with lots of clouds as well. They work just fine with either REX or FEX.

    Happy Flying!

    The historical X44 Miami Seaplane Base is located on Watson Island across from downtown Miami Florida. You'll find it next to all the cruise ships in FSX. Default library objects and custom objects including the Seaplane base buildings are included.

    Installation:

    Extract the zip file and move the X44MiamiSeaplaneBase folder to the "Flight Simulator X\Addon Scenery" folder and then add this folder to the scenery list in FSX Scenery Library.

    For all scenery objects to display, the Scenery Complexity slider in Scenery settings must be set to "Very Dense". The layout of scenery is optimized for use with Ultimate Terrain X-USA however was built to work with default FSX also. This airport includes a photo real ground texture of the ramp, and is the largest part of the file.

    To revert back to FSX default, uncheck X44MiamiSeaplaneBase in the AddOn Scenery list.

    Notes:

    This scenery is located next to a dense setting of autogen in FSX and as such only a higher end machine will handle the scenery well at high Scenery Complexity and high autogen settings. Most objects appear at the 'NORMAL' setting while a few appear at a lower settings and a few at a higher setting. An entire Satellite image of the island wasn't available and as such I only included a small portion of what I did have.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    I hope you like this freeware scenery, I consider it my best work so far. It took me a long time to get done as reference material was scarce. This scenery was originally designed to compliment my flying habits using FSEconomy. I put the most work into the night scene so I hope you visit the base at night at least once in your travels. Enjoy!
