Closing the log book

Posted by Wirraway in Wirra's Way, 16 November 2011 - - - - - - · 1,096 views

Over the last couple of weeks I have had a couple of brief, and a few very long, conversations with two ex-private pilots (one of which is also an ex-LAME) and a couple of ex-RAAF pilots (one of which was a test pilot and is still an active GA pilot). Basically, I have had a couple of concerns in regards to my flying ...

Development of Maldives in FSX

Posted by abdho50 in abdho50's Blog, 04 July 2010 - - - - - - · 1,433 views

Well in my opinion, as being a Maldivian as well as an enthusiast in Aviation Industry I would recommend Orbx-FTX company for producing or making a product which will bring the Maldives (one of the favorite destination for tourists) back to life for Virtual Pilots who use FSX (optional X-Plane). Here are my suggestions to include in the package:
- Covering...

I admit I am a Trekkie, sorta

Posted by JayKae in A Day In The Life Of An Admin, 23 January 2010 - - - - - - · 952 views

Ok, ok, not a hardcore one but I do love everything that Star Trek is so, I paid for the beta of Star Trek Online, official release is February 2nd I think but I have been playing the open beta of it and I am loving it. It is an MMO and it is too cool for school really. Swooping in to help your friends to battle those nasty Klingons, going on away teams,...

Lesson 8 - Stuff that makes you feel disoriented

Posted by tommyg in Tommy's Blog, 15 November 2009 - - - - - - · 878 views

Due to low fog that wouldn't clear on the 1/11 lesson 8 was postponed until 9am on 15/11. Conditions were looking fine this time, not to hot nor cold and hardly and clouds about. Did the pre-flight checks on MJG and then came back inside to work out fuel and weight calculations. As I was half way through Joe, the Chief Flying Instructor asked me to hop...

Thought about flying heli's all day and can't wait for saturday to get here so I can get some flying time in. The Five Mile

Posted by bazzam in bazzam's blog, 23 January 2009 - - - - - - · 921 views

Here's another of my favourite posts on the Vista Australis forums; a post that pays tribute to the wonderful, ardent poetry of Henry Lawson. Over the next few verses you will visit 'The Five Mile', a small strip that was included in VOZ release 1.5. These images depict the harsh and rugged beauty of the New England wilderness, using it to...

video settings

I don't know why I always fall for it, but, despite getting perfectly good frame rates, whenever a new NVidia driver comes out, I always try it out, then have to spend an hour restoring everything. FSX always runs slower and the graphics are stuffed up. Same again tonight...notification of an nvida driver update arrived along with some windows...

It Begins

Posted by aussiecop in OZx HD Paint Team, 08 January 2009 - - - - - - · 741 views

I thought I would start a blog detailing the progress of our first collaborative effort on the FSX default Bell 206. We started with the default textures and upgraded them to 4096 size and thanks to some great work from Gizmo and Butch with a small amount of input from myself we redid the textures from the ground up with a groundbreaking custom bump map...
